XRS Finland – Report

Some 50 drivers lined up at Fullspeed RC in Vantaa, Finland, for the highly anticipated XRS Finland race last weekend.  Organised by EuroRC, this event featured a diverse lineup of racing classes, including Touring Prostock, Touring Modified, CS-12, C12, and Eurotruck. With skilled competitors not only highlighted the exceptional skill level of its participants within the national level but also showcased a European-class proficiency, with drivers such as Joseph Quaqraine, Pekko Iivonen, Juho Levänen, Janne Koivisto, and Oiva Metsola demonstrating a level of racing finesse that placed them among the elite in the European racing community.  Their presence elevated the competition, making each class a true spectacle of high-speed precision and strategic mastery.

Touring Pro Stock
Janne Koivisto asserted his dominance by securing the top qualifying position in the Touring Prostock class. As the race unfolded, Koivisto continued to showcase his exceptional driving skills, navigating the challenging course with finesse. The final results reflected Koivisto’s mastery, with a podium finish that included Markku Manner in second place and Niko Vuorenmaa in third.

Touring Modified
Pekko Iivonen emerged as the top qualifier in the Touring Modified class, setting the stage for a fierce competition. Iivonen’s performance in the final race was nothing short of spectacular, as he outpaced his rivals to claim the top spot. Joona Lempiäinen and Juho Levänen secured second and third places, respectively, in a closely contested battle.

CS-12
Janne Koivisto, a formidable force in multiple classes, once again showcased his prowess by securing the top qualifying position in CS-12. The CS-12 race witnessed intense battles on the track, with Koivisto emerging as the victor. Jani Hovi and Jukka Häkämies claimed second and third places, rounding out the podium.

C12
Jarno Pottonen dominated the C12 class, securing the top qualifying spot and carrying that momentum into the final race. Pottonen’s skillful driving earned him the top position on the podium, with Sammy Pajalin and Niko Saarinen securing second and third places, respectively.

Eurotruck
Mikko Maula demonstrated his prowess in the Eurotruck class by topping the qualifiers and maintaining his dominance in the final race. Rauno Kallionpää and Kimmo Sukanen delivered strong performances, securing second and third places in an exciting Eurotruck showdown.
