Kanai brings RC to Japanese F1 Grand Prix once again
Former 1:8 Buggy World Champion and now legendary chassis designer Yuichi Kanai has once again brought RC into the Formula 1 spotlight with Alpine’s Esteban Ocon and McLaren’s Oscar Piastri taking the controls of Kyosho Inferno buggies on the main straight of the Suzuka circuit which hosts this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix. Kanai is no stranger to the F1 paddock having brought the noise and smell of Nitro RC racing to last year’s Grand Prix where Ocon and 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton ran two Infernos together. Ocon and Piastri’s RC driving experience ahead of the start of the Grand Prix weekend was shared in an official F1 video posted on their Facebook page, which with 13-million follows offers huge exposure for the sport of RC Racing and the hobby in general. Both drivers also shared the experience on their social media, Piastri being a former Australian Stock Electric Touring Car Champion. Well done Yuichi, lets hope they return the favour and give you a go in one of their F1 cars!!
