Willspeed B7 Options
British 1:10 offroad specialist manufacturer Willspeed has released a number of option parts for Team Associated’s B7 1:10 2WD Buggy. First of these are the Strengthened “Full Brace” D Block & Strengthened Std D Block. The B7 has notably had a few teething issues with the D Block and it’s alignment relative to the chassis and suspension arms, notably as it’s no longer chassis mounted and mounted on long screws through the gearbox case. The WS “Full Brace” D block incorporates the D Block and Roll Bar mount into a singular billet aluminium piece. This allows the D block to be fastened to the transmission case in two planes underneath the box and to the flat back surface in a “Fully Braced” fashion. Utilising the parallel rear face of the gearbox avoids alignment problems associated with the original component. Willspped also increased section thickness and added clearance chamfers to aid durability but keep clearance. They also offer a WS Std Strengthened D block with weighs of 6.83g for the Full Brace D Block and 3.69g for the Std D Block.
Also released for the B7 are new HD Bulkheads available in both 316 Stainless Steal and 7075 Aluminium options. With the long levers of long arms of the B7 and the hard paced racing action experienced in modern 1:10 buggy racing Willspeed observed and reviewed the failure mode of the original factory part bending and found there was a common bend plane through the mounting holes. They added extra material to both front and rear faces adding an extra 35% material to that key area and manufactured from 7075 Aluminium to improve durability over the factory part. Also available in 316 Stainless Steel, this option is super durable and the +20g additional weight of the Aluminium option adds mass over the front axle, a popular setup option within 2WD buggy racing. Offered in 0 Degree and 2.5 Degree versions, the 7075 material weights 10.63g (0.0) & 10.38g (2.5) with the 316 stainless steel 30.03g (0.0) and 29.17g (2.5).
The third of the new options are these Carbon Fibre 0.5mm and 1mm Front Roll Center Shims. With Willspeed happy to highligh there is not much in the way of performance gain they do gice serious points for your factory ride. Supplied in packs of 2 in either 0.5mm or 1mm thickness for all your fine adjustment needs each shim weighs 0.22g (0.5) and 0.45g (1mm).
