Lee announces departure from Yokomo

Long time factory Yokomo touring car racer Nicolas Lee has announced the end of his journey with the Japanese manufacturer.  An ISTC World Championship Finalist, the Singapore driver played more than just a driver role during his time with the company and in announcing his departure extended his gratitude towards the team and in particular founder & former owner Tom Yokobori for a partnership that lasted 9-years.  Since Lee made his announcement, Yokomo has been in contact with Red RC to inform us that they will be announcing a successor within their factory team line-up and that the identity of that driver will be revealed in the coming days.

As 2024 comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey I’ve been privileged to experience. I want to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude to Team Yokomo, my colleagues (past and present), and my friends. Above all, my heartfelt thanks go to Tom Yokobori for believing in me from the very beginning. You gave me the chance to live a dream that, even now, feels surreal.

Nine years ago, I joined this extraordinary team (a world championship team) and stepped into an entirely new chapter of my life. The challenges were immense, and the learning curve was steep. But the people—the wonderful, inspiring, and unforgettable characters in this team—made every moment a joy. They turned obstacles into lessons and hard work into memories I will cherish forever.

These years have shaped me in ways I never imagined. I’ve travelled the world, met incredible people, and formed friendships that feel more like family. The laughter, the struggles, the triumphs, we’ve shared it all.

To Tom, to my teammates, to everyone who’s been a part of this journey: thank you! Thank you for your support, your inspiration, and for making these years the best of my life. I wouldn’t trade a single moment of it for anything.
