Dutch 1/10th 200mm Nationals Rd4 – Report
Round four of the Dutch 1/10th scale Nitro On-road Nationals was held at the Real 80 club in Groningen in the north of the country. The long travel and the bumpy nature of the track makes it a love-hate affair for many drivers but the good weather on Saturday made for good racing conditions and everyone was looking forward to a nice weekend of racing. In the National class it was Daan Jacobs (Serpent) who took TQ followed by Roy Bakker (Sheperd) in second, and John Weytboer (Serpent) in third. In the Nomac category it was Mark Been (Kyosho) on the top followed by Jos Remmerde (Kyosho), Hans Westerveld (Kyosho), and Jan Timmer (Kyosho).
In the opening National class A-final Daan took the lead and in the beginning Roy Bakker could almost match his pace but he would run into engine trouble which allowed Daan to cruise to the win in both A-mains. With the win Daan already took the overall national title with two rounds to spare. Behind Daan, Roy Bakker took the runner-up spot while Dave de Ruiter (Capricorn) grabbed a maiden podium spot after many years of not making it.
At the end of the two Nomac (B-)finals Mark Been took a second win this year with Hans Westerveld and Mathieu vd Hoeven (Serpent) in second and third respectively. The next round of the series will be held at Raco 2000 at end of August.
