Desoto & Apolaro score at 2016 Great Lakes Challenge
The 2016 edition of the famous Great Lakes Challenge was held by the One Eighth Racers of Toledo in Northwood, Ohio this past weekend. The 18th annual instalment again attracted some of the country’s fastest nitro on-road racers and in the premier class of 1/8th Open it was Joaquin Desoto Jr. who walked away with the win from veteran racer, Josh Cyrul in one of his rare outings these days while TQ Scott Kimbrow had to settle for third.
1/10th 200mm Nitro Sedan had DJ Apolaro taking the TQ and win some two laps ahead of Eric Jones while Eliot Hard rounded out the top 3 podium result. Elsewhere in 1/8th GT it was again Joaquin Desoto Jr who ended the day on top of the podium. The TQ holder ended the 20-minute race one lap ahead of runner-up, Rino Lino while Rick Davis came in third.
