LRP tease X22 540-size brushless motors
LRP have released first information on their forthcoming X22 electric brushless motors. Follow-up model of the successful X20 series, that has won three World Championships, multiple European and National as well as ETS and EOS titles, the motors will sport an updated, ultra-lightweight and precision machined 7075-T6 aluminium housing with maximised cut-outs and additional openings on the flat parts to further increase the cooling surface and lower the running temperatures due to improved airflow even at maximum loads. The most noticeable change has been made at the surface of the housing. The X22 comes with the “dark shine black” anodising with X22 engraving that will make it stand out in every chassis.
In order to enable an even more precise timing setting, the timing range has been precisely adjusted and optimised from 14.5 degrees to 34.5 degrees. Another novelty is the 2017 specification, dual-axis balanced sintered rotor shaft with a longer mounting surface. The internals were updated for higher efficiency and vibration free operation while smaller dual precession 4x10x4 ABEC-5 bearings are able to provide very precise running and longevity. The new PCB board specification ensures even lower resistance. The unique waterproof PrecisSensor assures precise operation with any speed control and offers additional advantage when paired with the LRP speed controller line.
The X22 motor will be available in odd and even turns starting at 3.5T and going all the way up to 10.5T. These variations will gradually become available. The first batch will include the 4.5T, 5.5T, 6.5T, 7.5T and 8.5T versions. LRP also has a new high-end competition Stock motor in the pipeline that will be released at a later time.
