ARC R11 2019 electric touring car kit
Following a first teaser ARC have officially introduced the 2019 variant of their popular R11 4WD electric touring car. The car features several updates such as the lower bulkheads that sport a new, lower mounting position for the ball-raced anti-roll bars in order to lower the overall centre of gravity. They also make way for the new front bumper mount whose updated design, with 6mm more inward positioned body mounts, reduces scrubbing during hard cornering for increased steering. The front end is rounded out by a new front bumper foam.
Next up is a new 20T centre pulley moulded from high-quality composite material. The pulleys replace the previous alloy items for a lower weight and improved acceleration while still retaining a smooth power supply. New in the suspension department are updated front steering knuckles and rear uprights with the front blocks allowing to change the carbon fibre Ackermann plates for greater versatility and improved fine-tuning on various surfaces and traction levels. The new front steering block also allows drivers to adjust the axle height by adding/removing shims. The new rear upright comes with a single one-hole position at the inside hole of the old upright. The new rear uprights are also designed to give more precise rear toe angle and stronger resistance against impact forces. Also new for the 2019 kit are the ultra short shock absorbers that have been designed to give quicker response while using the same springs as the previous short shock. ARC also have designed two different rear shock towers; the standard using long lower ball ends which provide more traction and more rotation, while the optional rear shock tower uses short lower ball ends, giving the car quicker response which is desirable in higher traction conditions and tracks with lots of chicanes. Last but not least is the new floating receiver and ESC mount that has been designed to mount the receiver and speedo onto the centrally mounted floating plate. The part minimises heat transfer from the ESC to the chassis and allows the main plate to flex more evenly. The floating receiver/ESC mount also allows drivers to easily swap the electronics over to another chassis and it makes for quick weight adjustment using an optional brass plate. Beside the full 2019 kit ARC also offers an upgrade set for 2018 kit owners that includes new lower bulkheads, a bumper set, ultra short shocks, new steering blocks and rear uprights, and the 20T plastic centre pulleys.
