Tebo & Phend successful at Psycho Nitro Blast
The city of White Pine in Tennessee hosted the 2020 Psycho Nitro Blast this past weekend, attracting 346 drivers and 744 entries. In the premier Pro Nitro Buggy class it was Team Associated’s Spencer Rivkin with the overall TQ from Agama’s Tyler Jones in 2nd. In the 30-minute main final none of the two would really shine after an entertaining start to the main as it was 9th place qualifier, Tekno RC’s Joe Bornhorst who would take the leat at about the seven minute mark that he would swap with 10th place qualifier, Seth VanDalen (Tekno RC) and 8th place qualifier, Jared Tebo (Tekno RC), the latter established himself in the lead in the closing stages to take the win a narrow 1.8 seconds in front of Seth as Mugen’s Ryan Maifield retained his 3rd qualifying position another 4.8 seconds behind. Spencer Rivkin and Adam Drake (Mugen) would round out the top 5 results.
The Pro E-Buggy class was a different affair though as top qualifier, Dakotah Phend made a clean sweep, taking the win from tone to tone some 3.8 seconds in front of Spencer Rivkin. Tyler Jones came in 3rd overall from Seth VanDalen 4th and Mason Fuller (TLR) 5th.
Over in Pro Nitro Truggy it was again again Dakotah Phend with the overall TQ and win, however it did not come easy as the lead changed constantly with Dakotah, Joe Bornhorst, Spencer Rivkin, Ryan Cavalieri, Jared Tebo and Ryan Maifield all obtaining the lead at one point or the other and it would come down to the final laps that Dakotah would establish himself in the lead that he would take with a 13 seconds margin from Joe Bornhorst in 2nd and Spencer Rivkin in 3rd. Jared Tebo ended the race in 4th, already a lap down as Ryan Maifield came in 5th, another 22 seconds behind.
