Rebellion NT10 1:10 Nitro Touring Car

It has been a pretty interesting week for car design with the presentation of the Capelli F1-RR 1:10 Formula 1 and the Agama N110 1:10 2WD Buggy and now the Rebellion NT10 1:10 Nitro Touring Car.  In this a World Championship year for the Nitro Touring Car class, Daniel Rosenmayer is debuting his latest engineering creation at the season opener of the ENS at the Ettlingen track in Germany.  Having featured Daniel’s Rebellion F1 in a Chassis Focus during the 2022 MIBO International Race, his amazing work always draws an audience and the  Rebellion NT10, the car featuring a centre belt that run through the fuel tank!  The story of the Nitro car project started on 15th February this year while in the car for 1500km, thinking about how it would be possible to make a 2-belt nitro car, and ended with him studying many engine-pics to see if this could be made.  At this year’s MIBO International Race Cup Daniel finally found his passion again and decided to do it, in a record breaking time of less then 3 months.

Known as the owner of RC-Carbonstore and Rebellion-RC Daniel Rosenmayer found his passion in RC racing again after a 3-year break. Working for industrial customers with his new company CNC-Factory.at he didn‘t have the time for RC anymore but after several life-changing events happened end of 2023 he found back into his passion of developing never seen solutions for RC racing.  Explaining the Rebellion NT10 he outlines, that it all started with a used Capricorn C04 which was the base for all the dimensions in Nitro with the final car using Capricorn’s Clutch/2-Speed, Rear Alu option diffs, rear CVDs and the Bumper.  After the 2-belt system was proven to work on a Capricorn based suspension system it was then time to put in a Awesomatix A800R Suspension, so the shock absorbers, springs, turnbuckles, pivots and some plastic part.  The reason for A800R suspension was quite easy, he wanted it, there is no lower centre of gravity possible right now.

1:12 Servo
As the car is designed quite different to every other 1:10 nitro car there wasn‘t enough space for a normal LP servo, but why not use a 1:12 steering servo for throttle/brake?  8.5kg from the PowerHD M8 is quite enough.

Brass chassis
When the prototype was ready there were 100g missing to reach the minimum weight, and at the end it was the easiest way to make a 2mm brass chassis which is 90g heavier then the 3mm Aluminium version.  As many people told Daniel this couldn‘t work be he shown them to be wrong.

General
The Diff-pulleys, the receiver box, battery tray, and especially the tank are 3D printed out of PA12

With a P18 in qualifying at the ENS putting him P8 on the B-Main grid this is already more than Daniel expected on his first ever ENS with a 2-week old prototype!
