1st Trofeo Nuova Games Segrate – Report

The first Nuova Games Segrate Trophy race was held recently at the NGS track in Segrate, Italy.  Scheduled to be a two days race, the forecast showed heavy rains on Sunday so the timetable was adapted so that everything got done on Saturday, sadly not all drivers were able to make it with the club thankful to all the those that were able to make it for the revised schedule. The race had an important purpose, beyond just keeping racers entertained there was also a charity element. The race was able to raise €800 through entry fees which was donated to “Fraternità di Misericordia Segrate”. On track maybe it the best race of the entire Summer season at the track which has catered for racers from Milan and Lombardy for years now! All classes gave a show of the highest level, fought fairly and with stratospheric times.

The Junior class made its debut at this race with youngsters Gabriele Riboni (Rally Legend) and Leonardo Marelli (LRP BLAST).  The GT3 class saw outstanding performance of Top Qualifier Andrea Tonini (Tamiya TT02 SRX), followed by Andrea Pieri (Kyosho Fazer) and Davide Colombo (Tamiya TT02SR).

Superstock saw three hard-fought finals, at the end it was Jacopo Corna (Awesomatix A800R) who took the win.  Second place went to Top Qualifier Alfredo Anoardo (Schumacher MI9), third was Lorenzo Bonomo (Awesomatix).

FWD top tier was the great driving skills of Andrea Ghilotti (Awesomatix) followed by Domenico Drago (Awesomatix) and class specialist Lorenzo Bonomo (Awesomatix).

Formula class was fought until the last corner, third place goes to Bryan Ferrara (Fenix Mistral 3.3), second place for Alberto Riboni ( Tamiya F104 Pro 2 ) first to Luca Molle (Xray X1 24).
