Schelle 16mm XTR pistons
New from Kurt Wenger’s Schelle Racing Innovations brand are these 16mm XTR pistons with custom valving that utilises the proven MIP Bypass1 platform. The pistons, made in Covina, CA at MIP, are a custom spec design that is not available anywhere else. The new 4 hole rebound valving gives racers a wide range of tuning that is very forgiving, making it harder to take your buggy out of the setup window. The heart of the design is the signature Schelle 5 hole bump valvings, based on tuning a base 5 hole piston (1.4F, 1.5R). In 2024, Wenger and the team expanded the options going up and down in pack a tiny step from the standard baseline, adding 2 new options to fine tune for smooth tracks as well as un-groomed outdoors. Piston O.D. and 2.5mm thickness is based on the “H” Hi-Flow profile. The unique Bypass1 system was the perfect way to add extra tuning to the rebound stroke of the shock and improve jumping, prevent wheel hop, all while keeping the vehicles smooth and predictable in turns. Racers can use MIP’s patented Bypass1 system with coloured valves to fine tune the rebound speed engineered to work in a wide range of conditions and take full advantage over the Xtra Tune-able Rebound (XTR!) of the system.
5 Hole Variation Options
SCH1532-STD for standard drilling (good all around 5 hole)
SCH1532-7HS for smooth groomed tracks, where more pack adds stability as traction comes up (increased pack, improved over large jumps, reduced loose track grip)
SCH1532-OUT for outdoor ungroomed, holes are drilled larger, and a 6th tiny hole in front added (reduced pack for bumps, reduced flat landing stability, increased grip)Features

2. Machined “F” and “R” for front and rear valving.
3. 12 pcs MIP Bypass1 tuning valves in 3 thickness and instructions included (Green= Fast, Blue= Medium, Clear= Slow). Start with Front/Rear: blue/blue or blue/green faster rear rebound.
4. Fits electric and nitro Associated RC8B4 and RC8T4 (and older versions) and Mugen MBX8 and MBX8T series, Tekno and Kyosho.
