Nordman & Ausfelt takes Norwegian National finals
Last weekend saw the final round of the Norwegian Nationals for 1/10th 2WD and 4WD buggy held in Oslo “Hvervenbukta”, Norway. In 2WD PerErik Nordman showed he was on the pace as he took TQ honors after putting a fast round together in the first round of qualifying. As the track got slower through the day due to the surface being really soft, PerErik’s time proved unbeatable. The finals was extremely exciting as the track conditions made it really hard for the drivers to put a 7 minute run together without mistakes. After plenty of exciting racing in the finals with leaders changing throughout the 7 minute heats, PerErik took the overall win ahead of Ole Steen Karlsen and Kjell-Gunnar Guttormsen.
2WD final results:
1. PerErik Nordman – Kyosho/Orion
2. Ole Steen Karlsen – Associated
3. Kjell Gunnar Guttormsen – Associated
In 4WD Kjell-Gunnar was the man to beat during qualifying taking TQ ahead of last year’s Swedish champion Otto Ausfelt. The track was even more challenging in 4WD as the surface continued to wear off. The finals continued with the same kind of drama as in 2WD where leaders changed several times. Otto proved to be the stronger man as he won finals 2 and 3 to take the overall victory.
4WD final results:
1. Otto Ausfelt – Yokomo
2. Kjell Gunnar Guttormsen – Associated
3. PerErik Nordman – Kyosho/Orion
As this was the final event of the Norwegian nationals season, the ceremony for overall Norwegian Champion was held.
