Toy Fair 2011 – LRP

LRP SX Rebel BX RTR buggy

Apart from their new Helicopter line, which you can see on our new sister site Heliplane, LRP have put their new RTR S8 Rebel BX in pride of place on their stand. This entry level RTR is a low cost 1/8th scale buggy that has been completely designed by LRP and features a low maintenance and efficient universal drive train with 3 oil filled spider differentials and hardened differential outdrives for durability. Fitted with a specially designed Big block LRP Z.25R Sport pullstart engine the steering is handled by a strong 9kg servo. The suspension geometry with big bore shocks has been taken over from the competition S8-BX buggy.

LRP 6200mAh 65C Big Mama competition LiPo pack

In terms of electronics LRP have released two 6200mAh 65C competition LiPo packs called the Fat Cobra and Big Mama as well as a 1S 5800mAh 65c pack. For the 1/8th scale brushless market there is new Dynamic 8 motors available in 1800kv, 2200kv and 2600kv versions and to power them the German company are showing a prototype of their upcoming iX8 speed controller that will be able to handle up to 6s packs at a rated current of 600A/Phase.

LRP Vector K4 motor

Another new motor to be released here is the Vector K4 which offers competition specs at a budget price ideal for every hobby driver. Available in 4 different windings from 6.5T to 13.5T it is full dis-mountable and includes many of the features of the successful X12 stock spec motor. LRP are also displaying their just recently released X12L 550 size BL motors for short course.

LRP Element Pro charger

The Element and Element Pro chargers are the company’s new line of budget AC chargers. The basic Element can only charge NiMh and NiCd packs up to 8 cells, while the Element Pro can balance charge up to 3 LiPo cells at a selectable 1, 2 & 4A, the same charge current settings as the basic version.

Sanwa MT4 transmitter

Also on the LRP stand is the new Sanwa MT4 transmitter, which is a smaller form factor and lighter weight radio than those previously available from the Japanese company. Powered by only 4 AA cells, it feels comfortable in the hand and the menu system can be easily accessed and selected through the new scroll and click wheel system. The RX is also supplied with sensor cables to measure RPM and one temperature sensor, with space on the receiver for another optional temp sensor.
