Silvio Hächler wins Swiss EFRA GP
Last weekend the Swiss EFRA GP was held at the famous Lostallo track, but this time run in the opposite direction to normal. The track is really big with a very long straight and so it would be really hard to run the 5 minutes without a pit stop. After a wet Friday it was a sunny Saturday allowing for some nice racing. At the front the tactics were really different, Simon Kurzbuch, Claudio Paquin and Remy Hasler the 2nd till 4th from qualification did their runs all without a pit stop, the only one who was able to top this time was Silvio Hächler with fast runs including one pit stop.
The qualification order was as follows:
1. Hächler Silvio – 15L 5:16.650
2. Kurzbuch Simon – 15L 5:18.025
3. Pasquin Claudio – 15L 5:21.986
4. Hasler Remy – 14L 4:58.968
5. Vanni Marco – 14L 5:00.968
On Sunday the expected rain never arrived, so once again perfect conditions. And we saw dramatic lower finals and main finals with Sabrina Lechner one of the most famous drivers to not make it into the main final after she got 5th place in her semi final. The starting grid for the final was not very different to qualification, so Silvio Hächler started from Pole in front of Simon Kurzbuch, Marco Vanni, Claudio Pasquin and Mattia Pesenti.
After the start of the 45 min final, Silvio and Simon could pull away and open a big gap to the others, unfortunately one stint of Simon was a little bit too long and he ran out of fuel. After that it was easy for Silvio to bring home his first win at an EFRA GP. Behind Silvio it was an hard battle for the Podium with small gaps between 2nd and 6th place. The new track record in this direction is now 20.363 from Silvio.
