Tamiya Novafox, Neo Scorcher & TT-02 news

During the recent Shizuoka Hobby Show Tamiya introduced two new 1/10th electric buggies and also body shell variants for their TT-02 entry-level touring car chassis. Starting with the buggies, first up is the re-release of the late 1980’s Fox 2WD buggy that is now called the Novafox. The vehicle is pretty much a full replica of the iconic Fox buggy and features a plastic monocoque chassis, front and rear double wishbone suspension, front mono shock CVA damper and front anti-roll bar. Also included in the kit are gold-plated wheels, front rib and rear spike/block tread tyres and also a clear body shell with comprehensive decal sheet.

The second new kit is the Neo Scorcher and although the name may sound familiar the buggy has nothing to do with the original Tamiya Terra Scorcher. The kit in fact is build on the new shaft-driven TT-02B 4WD entry-level buggy chassis. Coming with a rigid double wishbone suspension, oil-filled CVA shock absorbers and plastic drive shafts the vehicle is topped off by an aerodynamically shaped body and includes a large rear wing and grippy spike tyres. The kit shares many suspension and drivetrain parts with its TT-02 on-road sibling and is available from end of July. Beside the TT-02B buggy Tamiya also introduce new body shell variants for the TT-02 on-road chassis in the form of a Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, a Lancia Delta HF Integrale and the road going Subaru XV.
