Mark Lim dominates Singapore Open Buggy series
The 5th season of the NOOB Singapore Open Buggy Series came to a conclusion with the running of the final rounds of both the 2WD and 4WD classes over the last 2 weekends at the Raceworks Arena. In the 4WD class, Mark had already secured the 4WD title with 3 wins in this best 3 of 5 national series. He would complete the sweep in convincing fashion taking all 3 finals of the A Main comfortably to make it 4 wins out of 5.
The final standings for 4WD which attracted 32 drivers over the whole season:
1. Mark “BC” Lim (Durango)
2. Jeremy Hong (Yokomo)
3. Tein (Yokomo)
In the hotly contested 2WD class, all eyes were on series points runner-up Jeremy Hong who was hungry for a win to force a series tie-break. Unfortunately for Jeremy, a gamble for the lead would result in a horrible DNF in the 1st lap which allowed Mark to take A1 comfortably. The second final was a thrilling close affair in which Mark finally won by less than 2 seconds. In the end, Jeremy had to settle for 2nd overall while Dennis Chiang rounded out the podium in 3rd.
The 2WD Buggy class had more than 40 drivers contesting with this final top 3 standings:
1. Mark “BC” Lim (Durango)
2. Jeremy Hong (Kyosho)
3. Vincent Yong (Serpent)
The 2015 season will be at Raceworks brand new facility as they move from their current premises at the Bottle Tree Park.
