James Hart wins at GT12 Clubmans Series Rd3

Round 3 of the popular GT12 Clubmans Series was hosted by the Broxtowe Model Car Club this past Sunday. After a welcoming drivers briefing from the club, the organisers held a vote to decide whether to change the qualifying format from “race” starts to staggered starts. With a majority show of hands it was decided to run staggered starts in qualifying. Broxtowe laid a technical and twisty track for the event, and unusually it was run anticlockwise. Grip levels came up steadily during qualifying, with drivers improving their times throughout the day.

Leg 1 of the A Final was a three way battle between the top three qualifiers, James Hart, David Gale and David Hall, with James taking the win. Leg 2 saw great drives from Sam Clifton and Matt Hunter resulting in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, and James Hart taking the win from the front to take the overall win. In leg 3, a great start from Matt Hunter saw him running third behind David Hall who was pushing James Hart hard for the win. A racing incident between Matt and David Gale dropped Matt back down the field, but a determined drive from Matt gave him fourth in the 3rd leg. James ended the final leg with another win, with David Hall 2nd and David Gale 3rd.
