Team Associated Factory Team 4-shoe clutch gauge

Coming from Team Associated is the Factory Team 4-shoe clutch gauge. The tool was designed to detect worn-out clutch shoes that can negatively impact the performance of the clutch and cause an engine to intermittently flame out even when tuned properly. The “Go or No Go” style gauge is placed over the clutch shoes and rotated in the direction of the arrows, the smallest internal measurement profile of the gauge, 23.40mm, determines if the shoes are too worn – with new shoes, it will turn only slightly. If the shoes are smaller than the tool, the shoes need to be replaced for optimal performance. The tool works with a complete clutch assembly either installed or uninstalled on an engine. This eliminates the need for expensive measuring devices such as callipers or micrometers. The tool is made from hard-anodised aluminium and works on Team Associated 4-shoe clutch (stock B3.1 #81370) and Losi 4-shoe style clutches (steel and aluminium).

International Offroad Carpet Championship – Report

The inaugural International Offroad Carpet Championship was held at Westgate Resort and Casino this week. This is the first carpet off-road race by Scotty Ernst in Las Vegas making it nearly two weeks of racing with its sibling event the IIC right before. Using CRC Fasttrak II black carpet, the racers were treated to a high-grip experience and flowing layout that challenged the drivers and provided close racing. In Modified 2WD Buggy, it was Yokomo’s Ryan Maifield who was in peak form, establishing TQ and going on to take the overall win in the first two mains in a dominant performance. Behind him, the battles raged for the remaining spots on the podium. Current IFMAR 2WD World Champion Spencer Rivkin (Team Associated), showed his signature speed but couldn’t close the gap to Maifield and was forced to go for the silver in main three. However, it wasn’t easy for Rivkin and he was hounded by Team Associated’s Broc Champlin for the first few minutes. As a battle unfolded, Champlin and Rivkin touched wheels with Champlin receiving the worst of it. Champlin had a chance to rally back, but made a few mistakes and was gapped by Rivkin. Champlin stayed in control for a very respectable third overall.

In 2WD Buggy Zsolt Bajusz Junior, Balint Rajki and Zsolt Bajusz made up the top 3 positions after the qualifying. In the opening A-main Zsolt Jr. and Rajki had a nice run with Balint waiting for a mistake of Zsolt but the latter had a flawless run and so the two would come in 1-2 and separated by only 0.2s. The second main was a different affair though as Balint made an early mistake while the leader had a comfortable gap. The lead would change many times though and ultimately it was Balint with the win in A2. For A3 Zsolt Jr. tried different tyres but it did not went to plan for him and Balint was able to get into the lead and bring home the win and with it the overall victory from Zsolt Bajusz Jr. and Daniel Schweizer.
