Vaclav Broz wins at rain-shortened NEOS Rd4

The fourth round of the Nitro & Electric Offroad Series was held at the Zidlochovice track in the Czech Republic. The event started off wet and in the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was Vaclav Broz who dominated the qualifiers, taking wins in all three rounds. Sadly for the drivers and organisers more rain would flood the track and so the race director called it a day and by using the qualifying results to determine the winner it was Vaclav Broz with the E-Buggy victory.

Serpent Project 4X blade-less spool outdrives

Serpent have introduced blade-less spool outdrives for the Project 4X touring car. The parts are machined from super-strong spring steel and their design does away with the usual C-shaped driveshafts blades that can break when using high-power motors or when running on very high-grip surfaces. The outdrive cups are strategically machined for a low weight, they offer reduced play for improved efficiency and consistent cornering and they are also usable on the Eryx 411 line of cars.

Dominic Quek joins Xray factory team

Xray have announced the addition of Singapore’s Dominic Quek to their factory team. A former Xray privateer, Dominic will now receive full works support in his campaign that will see attendances at events such as the Asian Onroad Championships, the TITC as well as national events such as the Urban Touring Series, the Singapore Nationals and the TIPS Championship. Dominic will campaign Xray’s T4 and X1 platforms and he had the following to say:

I have been racing radio control cars since the age of 5. One of my first pro-level cars was the Xray T2 which my dad chose for me for its durability. Over the years, I have continued to choose to race the Xray platform for its on-track performance and unrivalled quality. In recent years, I have had the opportunity to interact with and receive advice from Xray’s factory team drivers including Alexander Hagberg, Jan Ratheisky, Bruno Coelho and Martin Hudy. I am honored to now be a part of the Xray team and look forward to helping Xray drivers in Singapore and internationally. I would like to thank the entire Xray family for this amazing opportunity.

Per Calsson wins MSC Rd5 as Pontus Larsson takes title

The fifth and final round of the Middle Swedish 1/8th Off-road Cup was held at MSK Kvarnvingarna club this past weekend. Overnight rain meant the start of the race would be delayed and even one round of qualifiers was dropped and ultimately it was Jessica Palsson who took the TQ tie on points with Pontus Larsson. The start of the 30-minute A-main then saw Pontus taking the lead, coming from the 3 spot on the grid, and he would hold onto this position until about five minutes before the end when he flipped his car which promoted Per Carlsson into the lead. With consistent laps Per was able to defend the lead from Pontus who would come in 2nd, some three seconds short of Per. Mikael Svensson came in 3rd while Jessica had to settle for 4th overall. In the championship the 2nd place was enough for Pontus to win the overall title as Jessica, who also had a shot at the championship, only finished in 4th place.
