Reedy optional 13mm rotor & flat sensor wires

Reedy have released new option parts for their Sonic 540 brushless motors in the form of a 13mm rotor and universal flat sensor wires. The 13.0 x 25.3 (5.0) rotor sports a larger diameter that increases motor torque for applications such as 4WD buggies and touring cars. It is a direct replacement for the stock part. Also available are new flat sensor wires of 70mm, 110mm, 150mm, 200mm and 270mm length. They look better than the standard rubber shielded wires and allow for an extremely clean look.

Team Durango release machined blank shock pistons for their ‘408 line of off-road vehicles. The parts come made from black material and sport 12 dents that help to drill holes of your own specifications in order to achieve the perfect setup for your track or driving style. They are useable for both the electric and nitro variant of the ‘408 buggy.

Reds buggy engine line update

Reds report that they introduce some updates to their R series buggy engines in order to increase reliability and performance, and to lower the fuel consumption. The R5T will come with the long needle carburettor that is already being used for the R5 engine. The part improves fuel economy and guarantees a linear power output. The updated R5 will come with a completely redesigned crankshaft, in order to guarantee higher performance and efficiency. Compared to the previous crankshaft, the general surface finishing has been improved in order to provide a better fluid dynamic. Moreover the red silicone filling reduces weight and the rotating mass.

Meen Vejrak wins 2012 TITC race

The 10th TITC was held recently at the RC Addict track in Bangkok. The race saw the attendance of four former or recent IFMAR World Champions and an entrance of about 300 drivers. In qualifying Meen Vejrak took TQ followed by Jilles Groskamp, March Rheinard and Chavit S. In the first A final Meen hat a tough fight with Atsushi Hara with the better end for the Xray driver Meen who win the first final race ahead of Atsushi Hara and Jilles Groskamp. Come the second final Meen wasn’t able to hold his position as he spun at the start and lost several positions. Jilles made the best out of the confuse run, ahead of Atsushi and Marc Rheinard. A final three had to decide for the overall standings and thanks to a mistake-free run Meen V. took the overall win with Jilles Groskamp (Tamiya) in second and Atsushi Hara (Hot Bodies) in third position.

Lemieux & Burch win 2012 Florida Winternats

The 2012 Winternats was once again held at The Fort in Fort Myers, Florida. This year was the 36th annual running of the unofficial start of the nitro season. The Fort is one of the most demanding tracks in the world due to its high bite and very fast pace. In the 1/10 scale 200mm class Ralph Burch had the strongest NT1 through qualifying, with Paul and Mike close behind. Ralph and DJ Apolaro exchanged TQ position with each round, besting each others efforts through the two days of qualifying. In the final round, Ralph completed the only 34 lap run in sedan to secure TQ with his Max Power’ed Xray NT1, in front of D.J. Apolaro and Paul Lemieux.

Kenji Tsuruta wins Akashi Buggy Club GP Rd 2

Round 2 of the Akashi Buggy Club GP Buggy Race 2012 and the Alpha Engine Cup was held at the Akashi Buggy Course in Akashi City, Japan last weekend.  A total of 38 entrants joined the race with Tresrey team driver Kenji Tsuruta being the winner with Daisuke Endo in 2nd and Takashi Kittaka in 3rd place. After the price giving ceremony, Japanese Alpha Plus distributor Tresrey held a prize draw that included Alpha engine combo sets, engines, and the company would like to thank the Akashi Buggy Club and Alpha Plus for making the event possible.

Novak GTB 2 X-Drive/Ballistic BL systems

Novak release two new brushless controller and motor combos based on the GTB 2 X-Drive and the company’s Ballistic competition BL motors. The GTB 2 X-Drive is a sensor-based controller for top-level non-timing racing, and sport a low-profile heat sink, Novak’s X-Drive firmware for improved throttle feel, smooth braking and cooler running temperatures as well as build-in low-voltage protection for LiPo and LiFe battery packs. The combo sets are available with a Ballistic 8.5T or 17.5T “blinky” class sensored brushless motor.
