2018 IFMAR Drift World Cup – Announcement

The world-famous Yatabe Arena in Tsukuba, Japan will play host for the 2018 IFMAR RC Drift World Cup from April 20th to 22nd. The race is organised by the R.C.D.C. Japan R/C Drift Community, that is spearheaded by Atsushi Ito and RC icon Masami Hirosaka, and the aim is to attract both current and future drift racers from around the world to compete in this exciting and constantly growing RC category. The race will be held in AWD and RWD classes and full information – including travel, hotel and sign-up information – can be found in the Stage 1 report here (large PDF file).

MR33 V3 Asphalt tyre additive

Available now is MR33’s new V3 Asphalt additive. It was developed especially for the use on asphalt as it is slightly thicker than the previous version. Furthermore the new formula was created to reduce the aggressiveness on tyres. This effect is a benefit especially for Formula cars that had to deal with some problems last season but the V3 test results showed high traction and less tyre wear. The traction compound comes in 100ml bottle with sponge applicator.

Gene Hickerson wins at 2017 FORCE Series finale

The 2017 FORCE Series finals of the eight-round series was held this past weekend at Mills Pond in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The final round was postponed due to the hurricane that went straight up the center of Florida last Fall. Mills Pond is one of if not the Most Southern track in the USA, so the weather was nice and warm all weekend long in the winter month of February. The track was treated with calcium chloride and sugar to try to keep the dust down and increase traction levels. Unfortunately the Florida sun won again and it became a dust bowl with huge ruts and bumps and cupped out jump faces, making the very simple tight layout into a real challenge due to the super high grip and sandy rutted track. 160 entries signed up to battle in the 3 -day long event.

Raceform have announced the signing of Italy’s Alex Zanchettin to their factory team. The Tekno factory driver will be using Raceform tools and accessories, such as the tyre glueing jigs and part trays, from now on and he has the following to say about the deal:

Hudy aluminium tool stand

Hudy have introduced their new aluminium tool stand that helps to organise work and pit spaces. The stand is machined from high-quality aluminium and it comes black anodised and with laser-etched Hudy graphics. It features multiple machined holes for tools and smaller diameter holes to hold various equipment such body reamers, clutch tools, pliers, scissors, tweezers, gauges, glue, pens or whatever other tools are needed. Hot Race Tyres sign Daniele Ielasi

Hot Race Tyres have announced the signing of former 1/10th 200mm World Champion, Daniele Ielasi to their team. Concentrating on his new venture, 1/8th off-road racing, Daniele will be using Hot Race Tyres products throughout his campaign that will include appearances at all major national events in 1/8th nitro and electric classes.

Infinity IF14 aluminium CVD drive shaft set

Infinity has released a new lightweight CVD rear drive shaft set for its IF14 electric touring car. The set is made up of new axle shafts that are made from an improved super hard heavy duty steel material. This has allowed grinding of the axle shafts to the extreme limit to achieve the lightest weight possible. Further reducing the CVD’s overall weight, the drive shaft are made from Japanese 7075-T6 aluminium featuring a black anodised finish and engraved with the Infinity logo. High precision finishing of all components that make up the CVD set ensures smooth operation eliminating any play and making for improved corner speed and throttle response. An M3 set screw is used for simple assembly of the universal joint.

Jörn Neumann joins SWorkz 1/8th team

SWorkz have announced the signing of European frontrunner, Jörn Neumann to their 1/8th off-road team. Jörn will campaign SWorkz’s 1/8th nitro and electric off-road kits at all major races world wide through to 2019 while also helping with research and development. The multi-time European Champion, and Schumacher 1/10th factory driver, had the following to say about the deal:

I am looking forward to join the Sworkz 1/8 team to help develop their 1/8 Offroad Nitro and Electric cars. I will attend National and International races. My first race will be the Neo18 in Spain next month. See you there.
