Nico Schmid wins at Swiss EP Off-road Nationals Rd1

Round 1 of the Swiss Electric Off-road National Championship was held at the Poly-Fix Arena in Freienbach last weekend. The smooth and technical track was a real challenge for the drivers and while Patrick Hofer brought home the win in the 2WD Buggy class it was Nico Schmid who was the man to beat in 4WD. After sweeping the qualifiers Nico would also excel in the A-mains, taking the day’s win from his brother Florian as Fabian Luca Widmer snatched the final podium spot.

Vaterra 1972 Chevy C10 pickup truck

Coming soon on Vaterra’s proven V-100 S 1/10th 4WD on-road chassis is the 1972 Chevy C10 pickup truck. The shaft-driven chassis is equipped with scale brake callipers and rotors, chrome-plated rims with street tyres, the body comes decked-out with LED lights and the slammed street truck is controlled by a glitch-free 2.4GHz radio system. Waterproof electronics make for go everywhere capabilities and the truck is propelled by a 15T 540-class brushed motor. An officially licensed Chevy C10 body in black or red colour tops off the package that will hit stores in March.

Redworks Cougar KC & KD carbon fibre slipper pads

Available now from French brand Redworks are carbon fibre slipper plates for the Schumacher Cougar KC and KD 2WD buggies. They are machined from high-quality carbon fibre and offer a vented design that makes them both lightweight and more consistent than standard full face plates. In addition they offer self-cleaning capabilities and are more consistent. The plates come as pairs and they are direct replacements.

Xray XB8 series graphite composite ball cups

Xray have announced the soon release of graphite composite ball cups for the XB8 series of vehicles. The moulded composite parts cushion the M15 aluminium adjustment nut against the 13.9mm front suspension pivot ball with the reinforced graphite parts increasing durability and smoothness of the suspension even in very dusty racing conditions. The cups come as pairs and are usable on all XB8-based kits including the GTX on-road cars.

HB Racing pre-mounted 1/8th buggy tyres

New from HB Racing are pre-mounted wheels and tyres for 1/8th scale buggies. They are available in six different tread patterns and in the famous HB Pink super soft, Red soft and white medium compounds, allowing racers can choose the right amount of traction for the track surface and temperature. The tyres are mounted on HB Racing V2 wheels in white or yellow, and come with black closed cell inserts as standard equipment. Treads available include the Khaos loose dirt, Megagrid multi-use, Black Jack dusty racing line, Gridlock fluffy dirt, Beams blue groove and Megabite damp surface variants.

Awesomatix C07A carbon bumper A

New from Awesomatix is the C07A carbon fibre bumper A, an extended upper bumper plate that braces against the front bulkheads in the event of a crash. The part is machined from high-quality carbon fibre and is designed exclusively for the used with the P14-1X lower bumper. To make full use of the bumper it is necessary to attach two optional 1.75mm bushings on each side of the bulkhead in order to allow the bumper to brace against the stacked bushings, limiting its movement and thus protecting the lower chassis plate from becoming bend.

Mon-Tech Racing MLGT3 1/12th scale body shell

Italian company Mon-Tech Racing has introduced the new MLGT3 body shell for 1/12th scale GT12 pan cars. The body is made of high-quality polycarbonate and due to a new moulding process it is very light of weight yet durable. The kit includes window masks and rear wing mounting hardware and it is usable with almost every GT12 chassis.
