Ronnefalk takes 2 Swedish Onroad National titles

Former 1:8 Offroad World Champion David Ronnefalk added not one but two Swedish National Onroad titles to his CV today, being crowned the Electric Touring Car and 1:8 Onroad Nitro Champion in Stockholm.  Not a complete stranger to electric touring car, Ronnefalk would win the TQ and title for Awesomatix ahead of established touring car stars Alexander Hagberg and Viktor Wilck.  A somewhat surprise announcement as an ARC team driver in 1:8 Onroad in April, the reigning 1:8 Offroad European Champion is pretty much a rookie in the sport’s longest established category.  Also starting on pole for the half hour final, he would go on to win ahead of Alexander Andersson and Niclas Nilsson for what would be his 23rd Swedish National title!  While an impressive performance, Ronnefalk will switch his attention back to Offroad as he prepares to defend his Euros title for Mayako in Redovan, Spain, in early September.

ARC A10MF-24 FWD Touring Car

ARC has released their latest front wheel drive competition car for the popular 1:10 Touring Car category, the A10MF-24.  The Taiwanese brand describe the car as featuring a revolutionary design with fine-tuned weight distribution that delivers better handling, improved acceleration and lower lap times.  The chassis has an all-new weight distribution methodology with the kit coming with four newly designed brass weights: A 60g weight for the bumper which is the main weight for the A10MF-24.  Two 30g weights adjacent to the bulkheads to increase weight below the front drive shafts. 25g below the diff which can be used to fine-tune overall front weight distribution. When the traction is higher less front weight is required.  With the battery in the forward position, this new brass weight system results in a F/R weight distribution of 65%/35%.  Compared to A10MF, the A10MF-24 has 10% more weight over the front wheels.  There is also an all-new steering servo and battery layout.  The steering servo on the A10MF-24 has been shifted from the right side to the left side, allowing the battery to move further forward for improved weight balance.  The result is a battery position that is 24 mm further forward compared to the A10MF. This  further increases overall weight over the front wheels for greater and forward traction.

Ronnefalk joins ARC for 1:8 Onroad campaign

ARC has announced that Offroad star David Ronnefalk is to represent its brand in 1:8 Onroad and have a go at the sport’s longest established category.  Having achieved the top prize in Offroad when he became the IFMAR 1:8 Buggy World Champion in Las Vegas in 2016, the Swede has had a number of electric onroad outings but now will take on nitro.  Having been mentored in his professional racing career by Adrien Bertin, Ronnefalk will be able to capitalise on the Frenchman’s vast onroad racing experience having up until last year been the only driver to have won both the 1:8 and 1:10 Onroad World titles.  Commenting on the announcement, the reigning European 1:8 Buggy Champion said, ‘I would like to thank Jones Chu of ARC for giving me the chance to enjoy some 1:8 OnRoad when time allows from my MAYAKO Off-Road program. Always thought that 1:8 On-Road is the F1 class of RC and I appreciate ARC supporting me with the equipment needed to go race. I have a great mentor in Adrien Bertin when it comes to this class and it will be fun to go “play” a bit when we will have some CT engines ready to test for this category. Together with Matrix Tires and Xtreme Aerodynamics I think I have a good program also for this class. Looking forward to try the new R8.4 out on the track once they have opened for the season in my area.

ARC R8.4 1:8 Onroad Chassis

ARC has released its latest 1:8 Onroad Nitro racing chassis for the 2023 season, the R8.4.  Based on the R8.3, the R8.4 features numerous improvements to deliver a massive step in overall performance.  The car features an all-new chassis with a stiffer mid-section while they have lowered the engine position on the R8.2 LCG by removing the material below the engine area.  The new R8.4 chassis has no milling below the engine to help increase chassis hardness and improve rear side bite.  All-new lower suspension arms front and rear lower the suspension arm design is the result of extensive during the 2022 racing season in various traction levels around the world.  The new arms are thinner all around but features reinforced areas in the rear lower arm for better impact resistance.  They give significantly more corner speed and makes the car much easier to drive. These improved characteristics have been proven across various traction levels and at varying tire diameters.

ARC A10MF FWD kit

The A10MF is the latest front wheel drive chassis release from ARC based on the new A10 platform.  Using a mid-motor design that keeps all transmission parts as low as possible, the new FWD class features super LCG design that helps to improve the handling, especially on the high traction indoor carpet tracks.nnA total of 120g of brass weights are included in the A10MF kit, with 80g directly behind the front bumper.  2 pcs of 10g are then placed inboard of each front suspension arm, both helping to increase front wheel traction and increase overall stability, while keeping the weight as close to the centreline as possible.  New improved V3 Upper A-arms are included to further improve rigidity and durability.   ARC’sV2 caster gauge is included with the A10MF for racers to easily adjust caster angle without extra tools.

ARC R8.3 & R8.3E adjustable front & rear shock base

From ARC, the adjustable front and rear shock base are the latest option parts designed for the R8.3 and R8.3E. This allows the shock angle to be adjusted by adding or removing shims. Compared to traditional shock towers, racers can adjust the shock angle in much finer increments to better fine tune the handling of their car, the more shims below the shock absorber the harder the suspension. Both shock bases also feature a 3mm carbon brace that bridges the left and right sides of the shock base. This brace can be added or removed to adjust the flex of the front bulkhead. With the plate installed in the front there is an increase in initial corner speed, while when the rear version is installed there is an increase in rear end stability.

ARC A10 competition EP touring car

The A10 is ARC’s latest generation 1/10 electric touring car and it’s ready to hit the track. Built on a completely new platform, the A10 was developed with some key goals in mind – a lower centre of gravity, increased mechanical grip, easy maintenance & setup and full adjustability. The car features a new one-piece upper deck, helping the A10 to be super easy to drive out-of-the-box and suiting a wide range of track conditions. An optional two-piece design is available to independently tune the front and rear flex for racers looking to get the most out of their A10. The new one-piece motor bulkhead caters for both upper deck designs, allowing different flex options via both the chassis and top decks. The bottom of the motor bulkhead now also features a 3mm centre alignment pin to better locate the chassis when less chassis screws are used. This allows extra chassis flex to be dialled in with less likelihood of tweaking. The brand-new lower arms of the A10 are made from 3mm thick, high-quality carbon fibre plate and are stronger and lighter than traditional composite arms. The design of the new lower arms allows the arms to be moved further inboard for an even longer arm than the R12. Back-to-back testing has confirmed this new design to be even easier to drive while achieving greater corner speed.
