Axial 1/24 SCX24 Deadbolt 4WD RTR rock crawler

Axial have introduced their new 1/24 scale SCX24 Deadbolt 4WD RTR Rock Crawler. Hardly 200mm long the smaller sibling of the SCX10 II Deadbolt truck is ideal for both indoor and outdoor excursions thanks to plenty of steel components — from the C-channel frame rails to the front and rear axles and dogbones. Even over off-road, mountainous, rocky and desert terrain, it has the strength to keep pushing onward and upward. For the most reliable handling, the SCX24 chassis features a three-link front and four-link rear suspension. The combination of coil-over shocks and durable plastic suspension links delivers Axial-worthy crawling performance even at this small scale. The worm gear drive setup permits a high ground clearance plus a low gear ratio that reduces torque twist. Powered by an included 180-size motor and LiPo battery, the vehicle shows off competence and charisma on the trails. The Deadbolt body offers a narrow stance, bulging hood, realistic driver figure, and moulded roll cage with realistic light bar. The realism continues right down to the ground with licensed KMC XD229 Machete Crawl wheels wrapped in Nitto Trail Grappler tires. Adding even more to its beginner appeal, the SCX24 Deadbolt comes 100 percent complete and ready to run. Everything required for action is in the box: the assembled and finished vehicle, an Axial 2-channel 2.4GHz radio system with servo and ESC/receiver unit, the Dynamite 88T brushed electric motor and 350mAh 2S 7.4V LiPo battery, as well as an USB LiPo charger; and even four AA cells for the transmitter.

Axial SCX10 II UMG10 4WD rock crawler kit

Horizon Hobby have announced the release of the new Axial SCX10 II UMG10 4WD rock crawler kit sporting an Unimog-style body shell. Axial recreates the forward cab look in a body with many military-inspired scale features. It has a full-scale truck’s aggressive approach and departure angles. Also included are military-style 1.9 MW19 beadlock wheels and 1.9 MT45 tyres, as well as a functional spare tyre. The kit’s off-road performance more than does justice to the vehicles that provide its all-terrain inspiration. Its tried-and-true SCX10 transmission combines scale looks with the durability of all-metal internal gears. A full set of ball bearings is included. A 2-speed gear set is available separately, for builders who’d like to install a functional low/high speed transmission. Along with adding scale realism, the AR44 single-piece axles feature a high-pinion design with a much lower gear ratio than most cars on the market, plus increased strength. It also avoids the torque twist often associated with smaller gear sets. And like the transmission and axle designs, the kit’s chassis-mounted steering servo boosts its scale looks — while at the same time, supplying the correct steering geometry with virtually no bump steer.

Axial 1/18 Yeti Jr Can-Am Maverick X3 T 4WD

Horizon Hobby have introduced the new 1/18th scale Yeti Jr Can-Am Maverick X3 T 4WD brushed RTR off-road vehicle. The Yeti Jr RTR takes everything modellers admire about the 1/10th scale Yeti chassis and shrinks it down to 1/18 scale – then tops it off with a licensed Can-Am Maverick X3 body for a fun 4WD that anyone can handle. Out of the box, this tiny terror is ready for scale adventures. Before the Yeti, the only place to find an independent suspension with floating solid rear axle was in full-size off-road vehicles. Axial carried its advantages over into RC rock racers and crawlers. The suspension design give the Yeti Jr responsive handling, increased clearance, and improved stability at high speeds. Its included 380-size motor adds the perfect amount of speed and torque, controlled by the Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 radial tires, the Spektrum brushed speed controller and the Spektrum STX2 transmitter. The package is rounded out by a 7.2V 1300mAh NiMH battery pack, a USB charger and AA batteries for the transmitter, making the vehicle a true ready-to-run kit.

Samix SCX10 II short brass front bumper mount

Samix’s recently introduced short front bumper mount with adjustable servo mount is now also available in a brass variant. The part adds about 100g of weight to the front end of the truck while also relocating the steering servo to the front which as a result greatly improves climbing performance of the vehicle. The brass front bumper mount comes black coated for looks and wear and it includes aluminium servo washers for tight and secure servo mounting.
