BMT have new option parts for the 984 1/8th scale nitro on-road car available. First up are a flex chassis and an updated radio plate. The parts will improve the torsional flex of the car for improved performance especially on low-grip tracks and when the use of additives is not allowed. Also new is a front shock absorber support, a part that also targets towards low-grip track conditions.

Italian company BMT are currently working on a 1/10th scale nitro on-road car to add to their successful 984 1/8th racer. The car will feature aluminium bulkheads and a laydown servo design but no other details are known yet. It is understood that the kit is set for a release in September and more images will become available soon.

Italian company BMT have announced the signing of Robin D’Hondt to their team. Robin will use the BMT 984 1/8th scale car after being with Motonica for six years and he has the following to say about the deal:
To begin with I would like to thank Maurizio Ficcadenti for the cooperation over the last 6 years with him and Motonica. It was time for me to go a new way and in in this I choose to drive the BMT 984 car next season. I have already built the car and I am very content with the quality of the product as well I am sure to have a good cooperation with Pasquale Iuliucci who I wish to thank for this opportunity. Former World and multiple Italian champion Daniele Ielasi will continue to run for Italian company BMT for the 2015 season. The 2014 Italian 1/8th nitro on-road champion will use the company’s 984 car in this year’s campaign that includes events such as the World Championships in Brazil, the European Championships in Germany as well as the complete ENS series. Daniele has the following to say about the deal:

New from BMT and made for the 984 on-road car are several option parts to enhance the performance and durability. First up is an aluminium clutch housing with a special hard-coat surface to make for less wear and improved durability. Also new is a hardened steel servo saver axle, again made to improve reliability and durability. Last but not least are two new rear anti-roll bar wires in 2.6mm and 2.8mm diameter that help to fine-tune the roll characteristics of the car.

Front running Italian and 2008 1/10th World Champion Daniele Ielasi has joined Team BMT for the 2014 season. After running for Shepherd for a number of years and using Capricorn cars for the past 6 months Daniele is now looking ahead to working with Italian manufacturer BMT. This is what Daniele had to say about the deal:

Italian company iRacing introduce a 2-speed gearbox for BMT 1/8th GT chassis. The set comes with all needed parts to upgrade the GT car’s single speed gearbox and includes a new layshaft, one-way housing, and gears beside all needed hardware. Also included is a threaded clutch bell with interchangeable pinion gears to help with fine-tuning of the gear ratio.

BMT is returning to the 1/8th scale on road market after a break of many years, the former World Championship winning manufacturer has not been heard of much, with the exception of its entry into the Rally Game market, since the late 90s. The new BMT 894, the car in the photos is a prototype, is a pretty standard affair for a modern 1/8th scale car with some of the features including aluminium front & rear bulkheads, aluminium middle shaft bracket and a front anti roll-bar with classic blades or wire solution. The transmission uses a 0.8 module to improve acceleration and top speed, while on the radio plate it features a flex system and a radio tray module for both lay down servos and receiver including a RX box.
