Capricorn TE03 EP Touring car

Capricorn TE03 EP Touring car

Following input from team drivers Eric Dankel and Kyle Branson Capricorn have update the suspension on their electric touring car and will soon release the results, called the TE03. The suspension mounts are no longer mounted to the chassis plate but instead to the differential mount, while still utilising the same bushing system as in its predecessor. The new system uses shims to adjust the front and rear track width, rear toe and the opening of the arms on the front. This new configuration allows the chassis to flex more freely and works with the new floating steering design that can be adjusted for different flex characteristics. Other new items include new upper front tie rod mounts and lower front bumper and bumper plate.

Capricorn LAB TE02 Evo floating steering system

Capricorn LAB TE02 Evo floating steering system

Capricorn introduce a new floating steering system for the LAB TE02 Evo electric touring car. The design shifts the mounting points of the steering bellcranks from the chassis to the upper servo mounting plate in order to reduce the influence of the chassis flex on the steering characteristics. The whole steering assembly is now only hold by one sturdy aluminium tower that acts as the inner servo mount while holding the upper carbon servo and steering mounting plate. It is understood that the set includes new steering bellcranks, adjustable servo mounts, and steering linkages besides the new inner mounting tower and the updated upper carbon fibre plate.

Capricorn 1/8th scale V3 shock absorbers

Capricorn introduce their new V3 shock absorbers for the company’s 1/8th on-road kit. They are of an updated design that allows to use one or two O-rings in the lower cartridge for smoother operation with reduced friction or improved sealing. A newly designed piston rod uses a screw to keep the piston in place for easier setup changes and a fixed piston that does not rotate within the shock housing. The 1/8th scale V3 shocks are available in 57.5mm and 60.5mm length and are meant to work best with 60 shore volume compensators.
