With the new Futaba 4PLS, modelers can enjoy the benefits of telemetry in two ways. Temperature, voltages and rpm can be monitored in real-time and logged for future reference. Even better, these advantages are included in the 4PLS for the same price as the original 4PL. Speed Mind introduce five new ‘V3.0’ transmitter bags for intermediate and competition level Airtronics/Sanwa and Futaba radios. They are made using a special fabric that resembles a carbon fibre surface and the bags sport protective inner foams that match with the transmitter’s outlines. Several compartments make storing small parts and accessories easy. An inner pocket for the manual, outer handles and a stitched transmitter logo round up the package. Currently available are dedicated variants for the Airtronics/Sanwa M11X, M12 and MT-4, and the Futaba 4PK and 4PL.

Futaba are also at the Shizuoka Hobby show and are showing off their new 4PK Super R pistol grip transmitter. Continuing on a long line of successful 4PK transmitters, the Super R features increased response over its predecessor. Esthetically it is the same as previous versions but is now lighter, featuring titanium screws throughout as well as aluminium nuts and other parts. Other updates include new software, details of which we will get later, and a new steering wheel foam with a combination of hardnesses.

Futaba Japan released first information on special 1/8 scale GP servos. The standard size items are designed for the use with unregulated 6.6V LiFe or 7.4V LiPo receiver battery packs when combined with a high voltage capable receiver. The S9352HV (0.06s/22.0kg-cm) and S9353HV (0.06s/22.0kg-cm) sport dimensions of 40.5×21.0×37.4mm and weight 72g or 77g respectively. Both servos feature titanium gears and, from what we understand, the S9353HV also a full-aluminium casing.

Futaba have shown a teaser image of their new 3PRKA pistol grip transmitter. It is essentially a remodeled version of their best selling Megatech Junior 3 channel entry level transmitter fitted with their FHSS 2.4Ghz technology. Expect a March release, when we hope to get more information.
