Tessman wins Hotrace Grand Prix

With the biggest names in 1:8 Offroad gathering in the US for this week’s 24th running of the iconic Dirt Nitro Challenge,  Ty Tessman took a nice pre event race victory at the Hotrace Grand Prix over the weekend at Channel Islands Raceway in California.  In qualifying it was factory Tekno driver Marco Baruffolo who was the Top Qualifier, the Italian fastest from Tessman’s Xray and Mayako’s Jared Tebo.  Winning their respective Semi Finals, Tessmann winning from Robert Batlle while Baruffolo won his 20-minute encounter from HB Racing’s Ryan Pavidis, it was the Canadian who had the fastest winning time to secure pole for the final.  Over the 30-minutes, Tessmann would lead for all but a couple laps early on, and despite Baruffolo having the fastest lap, would win by a 20-seconds margin.  Batlle completed the podium for Mayako while team-mate Tebo moved up from 6th on the grid to finish fourth ahead of Pavidis.

Hotrace all new Vesuvio 1:8 tyre

Italian tyre producer Hotrace has just added the brand new Vesuvio to their offering of 1:8 Offroad Tyres. Designed and engineered to achieve one goal, it has been developed by team drivers in several track conditions for almost a year. Everything to give ultimate performance for clay, oily, humid or slightly dusty tracks. A whole new tyre design where the letter “V” is its main characteristic offering more traction and more steering. On dusty tracks it removes the dirt from the inside to the outside of the tyre, increasing forward drag and side grip and Hotrace claim it is easier to drive on bumpy tracks. The Vesuvio will be available from the 1st of December.

HotRace 1/8 onroad Lens tires

HotRace have introduced their newest product for the 1/8 on road class, called Lens tires. These new onroad tires present a different foam propriety and an innovative rim material that isn’t affected by different weather conditions. In a change from the usual shore rating, these new tires will be represented with colours, red for super soft, green for soft and light blue for medium, with a further option for normal or high grip conditions, the latter sporting an additional white dot next to the shore colour. Also new is that you can add the included Lexan Lens disc (LLD) to make the car more comfortable in the corner. The result of 10 months of hard work and development, these tires do not replace their current 1/8 on road tires and are just an additional product for this class. Supplied in a box and sold as a complete set of 4, the Italian brand plans to produce only 300 sets every month and you will find on each box the month and the number of production.
