[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/14671858[/vimeo]

Joseph Quagraine from JQ Products runs us through the history of the company to this point and what led to the production of THE Car. It gives a great insight into the thoughts and work behind making a car from the original idea, trying to find a partner to prototyping the different parts and making the bodyshell.

JQ Products ‘THE Car’ unveiled

JQ Products 'THE Car' unveiled

Finally the much hyped and long awaited first release from JQ Products, THE Car, has finally been unveiled. Rather than give us the full low down on the cars features and strengths JQ has decided to explain the ins and outs of THE Car in a 7-part story. “I will explain why it is designed the way it is, why and how I made the decisions that I made, and what I believe I have managed to achieve. Usually new cars are discussed on the internet forums, and no one REALLY knows what the true story is. So I have decide to enlighten you, and elaborate slightly on the normal run of the mill, “no-compromise aircraft grade 7075 chassis for optimum stiffness and cornering stability” and give you some real information.”

JQ Products Hyper 8.5 Options

JQ Products Hyper 8.5 Options

JQ Products, the company started by Finnish racer Joeseph Quagraine, has released information on his first publicly available products, all of which come in gold or black machined aluminium. Made for the HoBao Hyper 8.5 there are new shock towers, which are lighter than the stock versions, with the front one saving you 6 grams while the rear one 14 grams. The front tower is also stronger due to the fact that the upper arm holes aren’t drilled all the way through, removing the need for the usual plastic piece. Also released are som front arm holders, designed to accept a toe-in bushing making it possible to add more kick up to help in the bumps and jumps. Finally some front wide arm holders have been made available, that are to be used together with Hyper 7 front arms. This is something that JQ himself used for the last 2 years when he raced for HoBao, and which makes the car a lot easier to drive by making it more stable, tracking straight in bumps and more level in jumps. The wide spacers are placed behind the Hyper 7 arm, on the hingepin.

Toy Fair – JQ Products

JQ Products Starter box

JQ Products is present at the Himoto stand and Joseph Quagraine is on hand to tell everyone about his new project and the new products already developed. The main current product is the new starter box that has a convention shape and design, but the unique part is the alignment of the car on the top plate. Using 2 adjustable plates coming out of the starter wheel area of the box, these can be adjusted to clamp the outer edge of the flywheel hole on the chassis plate. This aligns it, while the use of foam/rubber pads on the on the plate stop it from moving around. I have tried it and it really seems to work, finding the proper alignment easily.

Joseph Quagraine – Interview

 Joseph Quagraine - Interview

More interviews with our partners Neo Buggy having an exclusive chat with Joseph Quagraine to talk about his new venture JQ Products, that he is doing together with Himoto Racing.

I have been working on my own 1:8 buggy design for nearly two years now, and at the time I started talking with Himoto, it was already done. When I finally showed them my prototype they were impressed, and basically things took off from there. The opportunity of being part of a new RC-car company was just too good to miss. It is a great challenge to pull this off, and establish a new top level racing brand, but its one I am looking forward too. We will start with a 1:8 buggy, and various nitro racing accessories, but the intention is to expand from there and produce other cars also, both gas and electric, on and offroad.
