Marc Rheinard to run THECars at the NEORace

JQ Products may not have won a World Championship so far but can now say a World Champion is running their gear. The company today announced that three time IMFAR Touring Car World Champion Marc Rheinard is going to run JQ Product’s latest nitro and electric 1/8th buggies at the upcoming NEORace later in August. Having run 1/8th buggies at various occasions Marc has a bit of experience with the noisy, dirty stuff so it will be interesting to see where he ends up given the Neobuggy races are well known for their challenging track layouts.

JQ Products THEeCar released

JQ Products THEeCar released

After showing the buggy in prototype stages and after many podium finishes in the U.S. and race wins in Russia and Germany JQ Products finally release THEeCAR. The company’s first 1/8th electric buggy kit, something that JQ Products’ mastermind Joseph Quagraine once called as ‘stupid’, is based on the Yellow Edition nitro buggy and uses the same front and rear gearbox assemblies as the noisy & smelly version, with only the chassis, left sideguard, centre diff/motor mount and dogbones being different. The body is also different, but the same one is now used on the wide chassis for the nitro. The buggy is meant to hit the stores as we type.

JQ Products THEeCar 1/8th EP buggy

JQ Products THEeCar 1/8th EP buggy

JQ Products are close to releasing the car they said they would never make, THEeCar 1/8th electric off-road buggy. In shops for pre order the car is based on their Yellow Edition gas counterpart with some dedicated parts to cater for the cars electronics. There is an all new EP specific weight optimised main chassis which sees the 4S battery mounted to the front left of the car in front of the speedo, while on the right side the motor is mounted very far back in the car, in a new adjustable motor mount, along with the centre diff which because of this positioning drives a very short rear centre shaft and a very long front centre shaft. The servo and receiver are mounted at the front right of the car completing the electronics layout. We can expect full information on the car in the near future.
