Kyosho Inferno GT2 McLaren F1 GTR

Just 28 of the 107 McLaren F1 supercars produced in the 90’s were allocated for the “GTR” racing program, which included the F1 GTR of Kokusai Kaihatsu Racing. In 1995 during its first year racing the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the F1 GTR dominated the entire field including the prototypes, which are usually the overwhelming favorites to win. The Kaihatsu Racing entry won the overall championship and the F1 GTR took four of the top five overall finishing positions. Recognizing the importance of the victory and its historical significance, McLaren took the car back to their facility and it was never raced again. The newest version of the Inferno GT2 features a faithful reproduction of this legendary McLaren F1 GTR. The body is factory licensed by McLaren to ensure the quality and appearance meets the demanding McLaren standards.

Pillars appointed Kyosho Team manager

Following the recent departure of Ryan Lutz from Kyosho, to move to Tamiya, the Kyosho Team manager role has been passed onto Team Orion Team manager Joe Pillars. Joe sent us the following statement:

I would first like to wish former Kyosho Team Manager/Factory Driver Ryan Lutz the best of luck with his new job and direction in racing. It sounds like he received a great offer and he deserves everything he gets. It has been great to work with Ryan here at Kyosho for the past year. He is a great guy on and off the track and any team would be lucky to have him. Taking over the role of Kyosho America’s Team Manager is a great honor and I am very happy to be chosen for this position. I would also like to say thanks to Joel Johnson for this great opportunity. Kyosho is one of the most successful R/C companies to date with a great name in this industry for high quality products and a history of winning.
