Fabrizio Teghesi switches to O.S. Speed

Top Italian buggy racer Fabrizio Teghesi has confirmed his switch to O.S. Speed for 2010. The Kyosho driver will run the current World Champion engines, having already run with the Japanese motor for 3 years from 2005 to 2008, taking the National runner up spot in 2007. Following 2 successful years with Novarossi, Fabrizio wanted to thank them for their support.

O.S. 21 V-Spec II & .12XZ Speed rebuild kits

New for the .21 V-Spec II Speed Racing 4 port and .12XZ Speed, O.S. Engines have released these new rebuild kits. Both kits feature a hardened chrome-plated cylinder liner for high durability and long life and a machined aluminium piston which features parallel rings that trap fuel oils and use them as a seal to enhance compression and boost power. Including everything the racer needs, the kit also comes with one connecting rod, one piston pin and two piston pin retainers.

O.S. 21XZ-R On-Road ABC Engine

New from O.S. Engines, the .21XZ-R On-Road ABC engine is designed to take drivers to victory at major 1/8 scale on-road championship races. The tungsten-weighted crankshaft creates optimum balance for consistent low and mid-speed torque while the cylinder liner features 7 scavenger ports and 3 exhaust ports for more efficient combustion. Other improvements over its predecessor include a newly designed 21M carburetor, a lighter piston and a more durable conrod.

O.S. Max-25XZ Truggy engine

O.S. Engines in Japan have announced their new truggy motor, the Max-25XZ. With the rules set for truggy racing, O.S. set out to make an extremely balanced, powerful and fuel efficient engine. The first thing was to reduce the capacity from .28 to .25 (4.09cc) which helped to make a more fuel efficient, lightweight engine with an improved centre of gravity. This short stroke engine claims a maximum power output of 3.1bhp at 33,000rpm and is supplied with a double adjustable carburetor to be able to fine tune the entire power range.

O.S. 12XZ ABC 12F Slide engine

The new O.S. 12XZ ABC 12F Slide engine features newly designed major parts that are designed to max out low- to mid-speed torque. Sporting a new crankshaft that features a counter-balancing shape and a more efficient intake port, the connecting rod is made of a new material, and the crankcase has been strengthened. Improvements have also been made to the liner ports, inner head and the 12F slide valve carb and it is supplied with a high-performance RP6 plug.

O.S. Engines have announced the high performance 12XZ on road engine. Overall weight has been trimmed to the bare minimum, while special modifications deliver awesome power and dependability. The crankcase and liner port are newly designed to increase torque at low to mid-speed while holes machined into the aluminum outer head decrease weight and improve cooling.

Every upgrade to the engine is done by hand in the U.S. by a skilled technician, and all for the aspiring racer who wants a performance advantage over the competition running stock. The upgrades include a hand selected and matched piston and liner, a drilled out cylinder head for lighter weight and better cooling, the engine gets a ceramic rear bearing, while a special coating on the lightened crankshaft prevents wear and finally tungsten weights in the crankshaft improve balance at higher RPMs.
