Joseph Quagraine joins O.S. Engines

Our partners Neo Buggy are reporting that 3 times Nordic champion and Worlds Semi-finalist Joseph Quagraine has left Italian engine sponsor Novarossi and joined forces with the Japanese manufacturer O.S. Engines. Joseph makes the switch after 2 and a half years with the Italian outfit having joined them from Picco in late 2004. His most recent, and final, victory for Novarossi came 2 weeks ago when he took the truggy class win at the Offroad Meeting in Monsummano, driving the HoBao RTR truggy.

I would like to thank Novarossi for their excellent support during the last few years. I wish everyone at Novarossi all the best for the future, however I look forward to a long and successful future driving for O.S. Japan, and would also like to thank them for this oppurtunity.

Quagraine joins a long list of star racers that are currently using the O.S. buggy motor such as Pavidis, Maifield, Hughes, Tebo, Smolnik, Bradley, James and Saxton, all of which were in action at last weekends ROAR Buggy Nationals.

OS Speed VZB V-Spec Alu

Neo Buggy have some news from World Champion engine maker O.S. about their new 3.5cc VZB V-Spec Alu headed buggy engine. The engine appears to be the same as the magnesium headed VZB, however features a more conventional aluminium head for those racers wanting the power of the V-Spec but on a tighter budget. The headâ€™s styling also differs from the distinctive magnesium version as a result of the heat conduction characteristics of aluminium, which mean a smaller diameter can be used, and also allows for a new engine head shape. The weight difference is also kept to a minimum with the alu head only 25g heavier than the Magnesium version.

O.S. Speed 12TZ Spec II

O.S. Speed of Japan have announced their engines line up for Summer / Autumn this year and among other non car related engines was the Spec II version of the 12TZ motor. A very popular engine for 200mm class racing in Japan the new version of the O.S. Speed 12TZ looks like a very nice engine, with teardrop work on the liner, a lightened, balanced and coated crankshaft and other new features but i cant give you specifics as the site is made in flash and so i cant translate it.

GR Racing tuned OS12TZ

GR Racing OS12TZ

Engine tuners seem to be a dime a dozen these days with anyone who can use a dremel and who has ever taken their engine apart claiming to be a motor maestro. That said, i was impressed with work done by GR Racing, a Korean tuner that takes his dremel and know how to many different types of engines including this OS12TZ 3-port. This engine has had tear dropping done to the liner, ceramic main bearing, crankshaft lightened and modified, crankcase work and even has a job done on the combustion chamber, definitely looks good, the proof of course is on the track.
