Protoform Forumla 1 bodyshells – Teaser

Two decades after their iconic “McLaren” and “Benetton” style 1/10th Formula 1 bodyshells Protoform soon have new F1 shells available. Modelled to resemble 2014-ish “penis” nose and 2012-ish “platypus” nose cars, the bodies should fit most of today’s formula chassis when combined with a low front wing, making for a welcomed alternative to the many non-scale F1 bodies out there. We bring you more information about the forthcoming releases as soon as they become available.

Protoform aluminium wing mounts & satin car stand

New from Protoform come aluminium wing mounts and an on-road car stand. Starting with the wing mounts, they make for an extra-secure hold and super trick look 1/10th touring cars, USGTs or World GTs. The teardrop-shaped wing mounts are anodised in Protoform red and laser-etched with the signature PF logo for added bling-factor and factory team style. They also allow for fore & aft wing adjustability if a slot is cut into the wing. They come with mounting hardware and work with most TC wings and bodies.

PFM-12 GT12 on-road bodyshell

Aimed at 1/12 on-road racers who want close, competitive, scale-looking racing without breaking the bank, GT12 is a class that has emerged in the UK with the potential to spread to carpet tracks around the globe. Protoform now introduce their first ever race body for this class in the form of the PFM-12. Inspired by GT supercars, this BRCA-approved body features a low-slung, cab-forward design sure to provide exceptional handling characteristics. Included with the body is a comprehensive decal sheet to complete the scale appearance, wing mounting hardware, and paint-then-peel overspray film.

Protoform VRS-N 200mm nitro touring car body

Protoform introduce the VRS-N 200mm nitro touring car bodyshell in preparation for the 2014 IFMAR Worlds in Bangkok. Implementing some never-before-seen-in-R/C air management concepts inspired by full-scale Touring Cars from the STCC and SCCA World Challenge, the VRS-N race body is designed to slot in between the handling characteristics of the P37-N and the SRS-N. It features a low profile up front and strategically placed airflow conditioners for maximum aero efficiency. The VRS-N meets all 200mm Global Body Spec rules and is available in high-quality light weight .025” or regular weight .030” genuine Lexan. Included with the body are window masks, decals, oversized nylon wing hardware and paint-then-peel overspray film.

Protoform 200mm nitro touring car bodyshell – Teaser

Protoform have released a teaser image of their forthcoming new 200mm nitro touring car bodyshell. As it is the year of the 200mm World Championships we assume the body is specially designed for the somewhat smaller indoor WC track of Huge RC Project in Bangkok, Thailand. The most noticeable part of the body is the highly angled hood that sports several ribbings which are meant to increase front end downforce. With no other information available than the image the overall characteristics of the body are purely speculation but first production images and valid information should be available soon.

New Protoform T-shirts & hoodie

Protoform have new merchandise availabke in the form of two T-shirts and a hoodie. First up is the Protoform Heritage shirt, a vintage style red heather shirt with script lettering and a classic checkered flag accent on the front. On the back the shirt sports PF’s original tag line from 1992. The second new shirt is made from black 100 percent pre-shrunk cotton and sports a large “Aero Matters” statement on the front and a Protoform logo on the back. Both T-shirts are available in adult sizes ranging from S to XXL. Last but not least comes the Champions zip-up hoodie. Black of colour it features a large crest on the front displaying Protoform’s world championship legacy and the PF logo on the left sleeve. It also features a double-ply self-fabric lined hood and metal zipper and it is available in S to XXL sizes.

Protoform anti-tuck body stiffeners

Protoform introduce the anti-tuck body stiffener set for 190mm touring car bodyshells. Made from stiff lexan, the one-piece stiffener fastens inside the rear the body with three simple screws and nuts. The pieces are custom formed to fit the curvature of the lower rear fenders for a perfect fit. Not only will this system virtually eliminate body tuck, but the added rigidity will also aid unwanted fluttering or deflection of the rear of the race body at high speeds. Weighing in at only 4.5 grams, changing the weight bias or centre of gravity of the car is minimised. Each set comes with two body stiffeners, mounting hardware and a decal sheet.

Protoform Crosshair body mounting kit

Protoform have released what they are calling the Crosshair body mounting kit. Have you ever painted up a killer race body, only to botch the mounting job by aligning it off-center, crooked, or too far forward or back on your chassis? The Crosshair kit uses high-powered magnets to pinpoint the exact position of your car’s body posts allowing you to easily mark their location. This simple but effective system is designed to ensure your race body is mounted just the way you intended.
