Protoform D9 electric touring car body shell

Following a couple of teaser images Protoform have fully unveiled their all-new D9 body shell for 190mm touring cars. After much success with the Type-S, drivers requested a less-aggressive body handling feel in specific conditions where traction roll was being combated, or in super low grip when utmost rear traction was needed. Developed through extensive testing, the D9 features smooth, easy-to-drive handling characteristics, helping to achieve maximum lap times consistency over a run. In addition, added ridges along the front fenders, door panels, a-pillars and trunk bed provide rigidity even in thinner materials. The critical tuning aid of body positioning is once again made easier with PF’s mounting marks inside the front wheel arches. Positions for 0, +2mm, +4mm and +6mm are scribed in for convenience. Included with every D9 are the all-new rear wing mounts with top “button” and bottom “nut”. The D9 is Global Body Spec compliant and fully EFRA (#4062) & ROAR approved. The body comes made of high-quality, super-durable polycarbonate, it is available in both lightweight and Pro-lite weight versions and includes a decal sheet, window masks, overspray film and wing mounting hardware.

Protoform white Formula front & rear wings

Protoform’s recently introduced new V2 front wing as well as their 1723-04 rear wing are now also available in a white colour option. The V2 front wing features 3-way adjustability to suit any condition your track throws at you: a low-downforce option, a medium downforce with 1-element add-on winglet, or a high-downforce, 2-element add-on winglet for maximum steering feel. The tall wing endplates enhance straight-line stability and side-bite in long sweepers. Inspired by popular American open-wheel cars from the late 90s, PF also incorporated additional ground clearance at the outer extremities, especially important on U.S. style high-grip carpet. The rear wing is inspired by real Formula wing styling. This wing will give any 1/10th scale Formula car an unmistakable look on the track. The rear wing is a true multi-element design featuring slots in the side dams, just like the full-scale cars. The middle element features an emblazoned PF icon. Rear downforce can be tuned by removing either of the upper elements, creating a “Monza-style” setup for high speed tracks. The wings are made from sleek, matte-finished, ultra-durable nylon and will fit most popular Formula cars.

Protoform Vulcan wide Pro10 body shell

Coming soon from Protoform is their all-new Vulcan body shell for wide Pro10 pan cars. Taking the successful Swift-235 body as a base, the Vulcan sports new features and extra clearance to allow the use with “wide” 235mm chassis. The body takes some aero inspiration from its larger cousin, the world-championship winning R19. A large centre fin was added for increased high-speed stability on larger outdoor tracks, while the sculpted side panels increase side bite. To tune aero balance, an add-on adjustable gurney flap is included, and recessed areas at the top of the side dams will allow for flush-fitting optional vertical side dam extensions. Measuring 227mm across the front and 239mm across the rear, the Vulcan’s wide track width and long rear side panels are sure to fit nearly any Pro10 chassis around the world, while two heights of trim lines are inscribed for different sizes of tyres.
