Serpent Project 4X hard suspension parts

Coming from Serpent and made for the Project 4X touring car are hard composite suspension parts. Available are the interchangeable front and rear hubs, as well as upper and lower arms all of which are made of a stiffer material that improves overall performance on high-bite asphalt and carpet surfaces and when running in hotter ambient temperatures. All parts are marked with an “H” for easy identification and they are available as separate sets or as 8-piece combo kit.

Serpent updates SL6 XLi 2-speed geabox

Serpent have introduced an update for the SL6 XLi 2-speed gearbox used in the Natrix 748 200mm nitro on-road kit. The update will see a redesigned 2-speed housing with thicker outer walls for improved durability while extensive machining will reduce the overall weight for optimised rotational mass. The new design will ensure stable performance been in long finals, as does the included high-quality bearing, and the housing will become available separately or as part of the full 2-speed gearbox set that also utilises new harder 2-speed clutch shoes.

Serpent SDX4 alloy uprights & +2 suspension brackets

Made for the SDX4 1/10th 4WD buggy are Serpent’s new aluminium uprights and suspension brackets. Starting with the rear uprights, the CNC-machined parts are made from aluminium and they are directional and depending on the mounting position they make for a total of 2 degree or 4 degree of rear toe in. The result is less or more side bite and traction. Also new are FR-FR and FR-RR +2 suspension brackets that allow for a wide range of suspension settings. The FR-FR part will make the car easier to drive and it can be used to reduce overall steering or when the buggy is difficult to control in certain track conditions. As for the FR-RR part, the suspension hanger will make the vehicle more aggressive in terms of steering. Both suspension mounts come hard-coated for wear and they are available separately.

Serpent Project 4X aluminium screw sets

Serpent have introduced two aluminium screw sets for the Project 4X touring car. Containing 143 fasteners, the set is available in orange or grey colour with the screws being made of aircraft-grade 7075-T6 aluminium. Using the screws as a replacement for the standard steel hardware will lower the car’s weight while adding visual impact.

Serpent F110 SF3 1/10th formula car kit

Serpent have introduced the latest incarnation of their successful F110 platform, the SF3. The car is based on a new, black anodised 2.5mm aluminium main chassis plate that sports carbon fibre extensions for the electronics such as receiver and speed controller. The battery is placed in a longitudinal position that, in combination with the slightly backwards mounted electronics, makes for an agile handling and a responsive car. Up front the previous 2-part lower wishbones have been replaced by a single carbon fibre plate. Included with the kit comes with realistic front and rear wings that have been updated by using a more flexible yet stronger composite material. The kit, that does not include body, tyres, gears and electronics, will hit stores very soon.

Serpent S120 LTR 2.5mm CF chassis & lower pod plate

Serpent have introduced a 2.5mm carbon fibre main chassis and lower pod plate for the S120 LTR 1/12th scale pan car. The new chassis is meant to improve high speed steering at corner entry, the car will feel smoother throughout the corner while also carrying more corner speed. Driving feel through chicanes is also improved while rear wheel lift is reduced, making for faster acceleration and a more efficient drive at the expense of slightly harder working rear tyres, which can be overcome by moving the battery forward or using a softer centre shock spring. The chassis and pod plate are available now and they will be a running change for all S120 LTR kits from April on.
