Ralph Burch returns to Serpent

Serpent have announced the signing of 2010 IFMAR 1/10th Nitro Touring World Champion, Ralph Burch to their team. The 32-times ROAR National Champion will return to Serpent as driver and also sales promoter, campaigning the manufacturers Project 4X touring car and later on also Serpent’s nitro on-road kits. Additionally Ralph will also be working for Serpent America/Desoto Racing as sales promoter and to support dealers and drivers with all Serpent-related matters.

I’m really excited to be returning to Serpent America. I look forward to working with the team and Serpent America dealers. Serpent has always had some of the best engineered cars in the industry, so I cant wait to get started. See you at the track soon.

Samix Cobra GT lightweight clutch bell

Coming from Samix and made for the Serpent Cobra GT is a lightweight clutch bell. A direct fit to the standard clutch assembly the part sports extensive machining for a low weight and thus quicker engine spool up. Made from high-quality steel the clutch bell is still very durably and it features a screwdriver hole to lock the clutchbell for easy and convenient gear swaps.

Paolo Morganti and Serpent part ways

Multiple ROAR National Champion Paolo Morganti has announced his departure from Desoto Racing and Serpent, effective immediately. Paolo was the corner stone of the US Serpent onroad team since moving to the US and even held the distribution for a time, so his leaving comes as a bit of a surprise, however we do expect him to announce a new drive in the coming days. Paolo released this statement:

As of today I have decided to quit my position at Desoto Racing and as a result also stop my relationship with Serpent Industries. I am very grateful for the past 17 years with Serpent and i would like to thanks Michael Salven, Ronald Baar, the Lau family and everybody at Serpent for everything they have done for me in all this years.

The Fabulous Barry Baker joins Serpent

Serpent have announced the signing of veteran racer and living RC legend, Barry Baker to their team. “The Fabulous” will be representing Serpent at national events and races around the West-Coast of the USA. Barry will focus on 1/8th and 1/10th off-road racing and also select on-road events, campaigning Serpent’s Project 4X touring car. The multi-time national and Reedy Race champion has the following to say about the deal:

I am so proud to represent such a legendary brand. Serpent produces some of the best quality products on the market. I will do my best to promote and build the brand throughout. Serpent Spyder SDX4 1/10th 4WD buggy kit

Coming soon from Serpent is the SDX4 1/10th 4WD buggy kit. The buggy was pretty successful already in prototype stages with Jörn Neumann having taken the 2016 EFRA European 4WD Buggy title. The vehicle is based on a hard-anodised aluminium chassis that allows for a variety of different motor and battery layouts while its simple design and shaft drivetrain make maintenance and setup easy. After removing a handful of transmission parts the car can also be run as a 2WD which can be a hot ticket for very high-bite tracks.

McFactory Motorsports Project 4X alloy main chassis

McFactory Motorsports are currently working on an aluminium main chassis for Serpent’s Project 4X touring car and have released first images. The optional chassis will feature some extensive machining that not only gives a unique look but it will also assist with controlled flex while being light of weight at the same time. No word yet on a release date but it is understood that the chassis will become available soon.

Hiro Seiko Project 4X & XB4’17 screw kits

Coming from Hiro Seiko are three new screw kits for Serpent’s Project 4X and Xray’s XB4’17 cars. Available for Serpent’s revolutionary touring car are a full titanium and also a mixed titanium and aluminium hex screw kit while Xray’s latest 1/10th 4WD off-road buggy will receive a full titanium treatment. All sets scrub some weight compared to using the standard steel screws with the mixed titanium and aluminium set saving even more valuable weight.

T-Works 748 aluminium servo saver arm

Coming from T-Works and made for the Serpent Natrix 748 TQ and WC is an aluminium servo saver arm. A direct replacement for the standard composite part, the alloy item offers improved stiffness and precision, making for an overall improved steering performance. The part fits the TQ and WC version and it comes hard anodises for wear.
