T-Works have introduced a range of hard-coated lower shock mount pins for a range of 1/8th off-road vehicles. Machined from aircraft-grade 7075 aluminium and sporting a hard-coated surface for wear the lightweight pins reduce unsprung weight and they are available in four piece sets for the Kyosho MP9, HB Racing D815 and the Serpent S811 and GT.

Coming from Serpent is a new medium downforce rear wing. Sporting a 2-level design with large side dams and winglets on the bottom element, the wing is ideal for high-speed tracks while also offering exceptional balance and stability while jumping. The wing is available in black and white colour and it fits Serpent’s own range of 1/8th scale buggies and trucks and also most other brands.
Samix have introduced a carbon fibre radio plate conversion kit for the Serpent Cobra GT. The whole assembly is meant to offer increased rigidity for improved steering response while also being very light of weight at the same time. It allows to use hump or straight-type receiver battery packs with the hump pack configuration offering two different mounting positions to fine-tune the car’s weight distribution. The conversion also allows for easier mounting of the throttle linkage, it fits all Serpent Cobra GP cars and includes all needed hardware.
Serpent have announced the signing of female U.S. racer, Loran Whiting to their team. Loran will focus on 1/10th scale nitro and electric racing but she will also campaign Serpent’s 1/8th on-road cars and 1/10th buggies at selected events. The former Capricorn racer had the following to say about the deal:

Coming from Samix and made for the Serpent Cobra GT 2.0 are aluminium gearbox covers. The lightweight parts are cut from aluminium and their design allows for easier gear mesh adjustment as they make for better visibility of the gears involved. The aluminium strips come orange or black anodised and sport laser-etched Samix markings.
Available now from Serpent is the Cobra SRX8 high-downforce bodyshell. Made from high-quality polycarbonate the body offers a cab forward design with pronounced side pods and several aerodynamic features to ensure optimised airflow and thus downforce.
Fenix Racing have introduced a carbon fibre chassis for the company’s Serpent SF2 Rattlesnake conversion as well as steering blocks for most formula cars. Starting with the chassis, the included parts are cut from 2.5mm carbon fibre and they fits Fenix’ conversion kit for the SF2 car. Offering more flex the chassis conversion will make for improved traction in lower grip conditions.
Serpent have introduced new gear differentials with foam volume compensators. Coming from the mind of Serpent designer Billy Easton, the diff cases offer additional holes that can take foam inserts to compensate the increase in oil volume once the diff fluid becomes warmer during use. As the foam inserts become compressed the internal pressure of the oil remains at a controlled level which results in a more consistent diff action even in hour-long mains and at high ambient temperatures. Included with the diffs, that are available as 44T front or rear as well as 46T centre diff, come slightly curved spring steel main gears and pinions as well as lightened spring steel outdrives.
