X Factory Infinity SRX-2mm battery straps

X Factory Infinity SRX-2mm battery straps

X Factory Infinity announces a new battery strap for the mid-motor Serpent Spyder SRX-2. The two strips of carbon fibre are direct replacements for the big x-shaped standard strap and they solve two problems with the original part. As a tuning aid, the straps allow more chassis flex than the standard part and they also allow most batteries to be removed with just two thumb screws undone instead of four. The parts use the standard thumb screws and include holes for the stand-offs used to hold a shorty pack.

Milan Holthuis joins Serpent junior on-road team

Serpent announce the signing of talented Milan Holthuis to their junior on-road team. Milan will be running in the 1/10th 200mm class backed by selected electric touring car races if time allows. This is what Milan had to say:

In the past few years that I joined the 200mm races and I ran different  Serpent models. Started with a used 733, up to a new 747 and now with the 748. In 2015 I will run the brand new 748 Natrix TQ edition, and I would like to thank Ronald, Michael and Stef for their support. Hope to celebrate my first victory this year, although the competition in Holland is very strong. I can’t wait to see the new season to begin, specially the EC –A in Turkey as main event. My new school gave me free off already for that. I will race my Heemstede clubraces, as well as the Dutch championships as well, and practise as much as I can. Greetings to all Serpent drivers and good luck this year.

Serpent Spyder 2WD series Slide Drive sets

Serpent Spyder 2WD series Slide Drive sets

New from Serpent and made for the Spyder series of 1/10th buggies and SC trucks is the Slide Drive system that was designed to create a more precise connection of the differential outdrives and driveshafts. The design idea revolves around hardened steel sliders that replace the standard drivepins on the driveshafts. The system is meant to develop less play for an improved power supply to the wheels while reducing maintenance intervals at the same time. The sets are available for the 2WD buggies and SC trucks with ball differentials and include new outdrives, driveshafts and the Slide Drive sliders including mounting bolts.

Jörn Neumann signs with Serpent

Jörn Neumann signs with Serpent

Serpent has announced the signing of Jörn Neumann to their factory off-road team. Serpent and Neumann agreed in a long term commitment which includes racing, testing and commercial work as sales promoter with Jörn racing Serpent’s full range of 1/8th and 1/10th nitro and electric off-road vehicles and he may even have a go in 1/12th scale racing to battle with racing buddy Hupo Hönigl who joined the Serpent factory team in January. Jörn will continue his racing career alongside longtime mechanic and mentor Gerd Strenge who will act as his mechanic and race engineer. The forthcoming Dirt Nitro Challenge will be Jörn’s first outing for his new sponsor and he has the following to say about the deal:

The full package made me think not long. A sales-support and promotional job and continue being a Pro driver is very good for the future. On top of that Gerd Strenge will be my mechanic and race engineer. This was an amazing opportunity which we had to take. The current Serpent car-line up is one of the most complete ones in the entire RC industry.
