Serpent 411 Eryx v2 hard composite A-arms

Serpent have new optional lower A-arms for the 411 Eryx touring car available. Moulded in a new composite material that is light of weight, hard and very durable, the arms also feature repositioned lower shock mounting position to add steering to the front while the rear locations increase traction and keep the shocks from touching the wheel. The A-arms come as pairs for the front and the rear of the car.

ZZRacing titanium & stainless steel screw kits

ZZRacing have new titanium and stainless steel hex socket screw kits available for a variety of chassis such as the Serpent SRX2, the Tamiya TRF418, Hot Bodies R10 and Team Associated B5. There are also coming kits for the Xray XB4 2014, XB4 2WD as well as the Team Durango DETC410 and DEX210v2. The sets are made as a direct replacement for the stock steel screws, they save weight, add durability and a certain amount of bling to the chassis.

Mark Green continues with Serpent

Mark Green continues with Serpent

Mark Green recently signed a contract extension with Serpent for the 2014 season. The multi-times champion will continue to race Serpent’s 1/8th and 1/10th nitro cars during his 2014 campaign that will see races such as the EFRA Euros, 1/10th Worlds and the Euro Nitro Series. Mark will also run the S411 electric touring car at selected national events. Mark Green will continue to work closely with Michael Salven on new developments and has the following to say:

I am very happy and excited to be able to continue with Serpent into 2014 and look forward to try and better my 2013 results with new developments and to have fun racing with all the team and continue to help fellow racers with Serpent products in their quest to go fast and enjoy serpent race cars.

Exotek SRX-2 servo mounts & battery strap

Exotek have first option parts for the Serpent SRX-2 buggy available in the form of aluminium servo mounts and a carbon fibre battery strap. First up are the servo mounting brackets, machined from high quality aluminium the parts come in Serpent orange or glossy gun metal finish and replace the stock plastic mounts with a more rigid and cooler looking alternative. Also new is the Flite LiPo battery strap for the rear motor SRX-2. Weighting in at only 4.8g the carbon fibre part is not only over 5g lighter than the stock part but it also gives added clearance allowing to run the battery in a more forward position while mounting the speedo behind the battery for improved balance. The brace is usable with stock or aftermarket thumb screws.

Serpent announce the Spyder SCT-2 SC truck

Seen for the first time at the recent Nuremberg International Toyfair in Germany, Serpent now officially announce the Spyder SCT-2 2WD short course truck. Based off the Spyder SRX-2 buggy the truck features a long wheelbase composite chassis, redesigned shock towers, long-stoke big bore shock absorbers, aluminium suspension mounts and it will come as a rear motor truck. Specially designed nerf bars with lexan inserts help to keep as much air out of the bodyshell for improved jumping abilities and a reduced “parachute” effect. The truck is set for an April release with a ready-to-run version coming soon after.

Carlos Duraes joins Team Serpent

Serpent announce that top Portuguese off-road driver, Carlos Duraes has joined their talented team of drivers. He will race the company’s Cobra 1/8th buggy and will also assist in the development of the Cobra buggy platform. His key races for 2014 are the NEO Race, the European and World Championships and also the Portuguese nats beside other major buggy races in Europe. Additionally Carlos will have outings with Serpent’s 1/8th and 1/10th electric buggies.

Serpent SL8 light 2-speed shaft

Serpent introduce this lightweight SL8 2-speed layshaft for the Viper 977 car. The hollow axle is made from hardened, balanced and ground spring steel for a maximum in precision and durability. Two flat spots ensure a secure fit of the pulley adaptor grub screws. Being around 30 percent lighter than the stock part using the shaft makes for a lighter and more agile behaving drivetrain.

More Serpent SRX2 option parts released

Serpent introduce more option parts for their Spyder SRX2 line of 2WD buggies. First up is a 3-piece aluminium steering rack set that includes aluminium steering bellcranks and the steering rack. The CNC-macined parts are made from high-grade aluminium for less flex and a more precise steering feeling. Another new aluminium option is the 2-piece servo mount set. Again the parts are designed to eliminate unwanted flex for a rock-solid steering response.
