Serpent Spyder MM mid motor buggy

Serpent Spyder MM mid motor buggy

Following first teaser images back in December Serpent now release full information on the SRX2 Spyder mid motor buggy. The Billy Easton designed vehicle shares the front end and some minor parts with the already available rear motor buggy but features a completely new chassis and rear end. The buggy that is designed for medium to high bite tracks builds on a composite chassis compatible with saddle or shorty LiPo packs and the 4-gear transmission allows for an adjustable differential height in order to adapt the buggy to various track conditions. Included with the kit comes a limited slip ball differential as well as a 3-pad slipper clutch. Other features include 12mm RCM big bore shock absorbers, C-hubs and rear carriers with interchangeable inserts, spring steel wheel axles, an aluminium motor plate and carbon fibre shock towers. Included in the kit is also a cab forward body shell and high downforce rear wing and the buggy will  become available by the end of January.

Mike Truhe joins Serpent

Truhe Serpent

Serpent have released a teaser image showing a partly covered Mike Truhe, confirming many earlier rumours that the former TLR driver had joined the Serpent team. Despite the trademark goatie and body shell giving it away we still have to wait for official confirmation which we are sure will come in the next days. The addition of Mike to their team is a positive development and with their new mid motor 2wd buggy recently added to their their very thorough line-up, having a major name on the team to work alongside Billy Easton was the next logical step to ramp up their offroad program in the US. Update: Mike Truhe made a statement on his FB page confirming the move:

I am now very excited to be working with Serpent racing and Desoto racing to grow and expand the Serpent brand and all that Desoto racing has to offer. I truly feel that this is a great fit for me and that the products available are some of the best on the market. I am very excited to also be apart of this growing brand and bring the consumers the best and freshest ideas of cars and parts that are available.

Vision Racing SRX2 & Ten-SCTE option parts

Vision Racing SRX2 & Ten-SCTE option parts

Vision Racing have new option parts for the Serpent SRX2 buggy and the TLR Ten-SCTE short course truck available. First up is the short carbon fibre battery brace for the Serpent buggy. The part is cut from 2.5mm high quality material and a direct fit. It is ideal when mounting the speed controller in-line with a shorty LiPo battery packs as the shorter length of the brace does away with speedo height clearance problems. Also new are inner shock bushings for the Ten-SCTE truck. Made from teflon material the parts are of a very high precision improving the O-ring seal seat and thus seal life and shock action. The bushings come in sets of four.
