SRC 1/8th on-road option parts

SRC 1/8th on-road option parts

Sprint RC from Italy introduce new option parts for the Serpent S977 and several other nitro on-road cars. First up is the C08 gear box set for the S977 that allows the use of smaller 0.8 module gears from Serpent 1/10th kits. Included in the set, that also moves the engine 1.5mm further back, is a new middle layshaft, gear and one-way housings, a 3-bearing clutch housing, clutch shoes and 17/22T pinions. The set is rounded out by updated engines mounts and will make for better acceleration and bottom to mid-range response. Also new are carbon fibre quick change levers for the front and rear axles. They are made from 4mm carbon material and weight only 3g in total, minimising vibrations and improving tyre wear over conventional metal levers. Last but not least come 20 micron hard coated drive shafts. They offer a super low weight and best possible durability and are usable on virtually every 1/8th on-road car.

Serpent expanding development team

Serpent expanding development team

The Serpent development team is expanding with the arrival of Nacho Lopez from Spain. Nacho is an industrial engineer and has done freelance work for Serpent in the past years already. He is involved in design, modeling, engineering, testing and racing, as well as working on manuals, video and other promotional affairs. He will attend many national and international races and remains based in Valencia, Spain where his local onroad rack is Almussafes, just 15 minutes away. Nacho is a top level racer in the 1/8 onroad class in Spain and is 2013 EC-B 1/8 Vice-champion. He was already involved in the testing of the Viper 977 in December last year and is now working now on the F110 Formula one Serpent car, as well as on the 747-e, 977-e and F180-e, which we will see more off in the months to come. As the Serpent offroad line is expanding fast, they are also looking for additional development staff specialized in the offroad market. An engineering education and/or background as well as vast RC racing experience is needed with some preference for being USA based and willing to move the Florida, to coop with Billy Easton, head of offroad design. Serpent 747 lower front & rear shock towers

Serpent 747 lower front & rear shock towers

New for the 747, Serpent introduces lower front and rear carbon shock towers to be able to use the Serpent Super-Short shocks, which were originally made for the Eryx 411 TC car, and together help lower the car’s center of gravity. The strong 3mm thick front shock tower has 3 options for shock angle with the middle and top used mostly and also has the center holes to mount the center front body mount. The 3mm thick rear low carbon shock tower also has 3 holes for shock angle, and features extra holes to mount the extra body support system with fine tuning options. The Serpent RCM Super-short shocks have the key advantage that you can use the same springs you already have.
