Serpent 966 TE radioplate set & fuel tank

Serpent 966 TE radioplate set

Included in the 966 TE kit, this new radio plate set is also available for use with the regular 966. Featuring a two piece top deck made from strong 2.5mm thick bi-directional carbon fibre, the front stiffener is separate, but connected to the main radio plate with a trackrod. The flex can be adjusted by through the use of 2 screws, while he rod will then control the flex. Testing has shown a more effective flex response is achieved in the front part of the car. Also new for the 966 is the durable heat-stable composite tank with sintered bronze filter. The new tank features the same tank-cap as the Serpent Cobra cars, with angled tip for faster & easier refills, excellent sealing with improved shaped silicone rubber seal, heavy duty spring. The pressure nipple is now in the back of the cap, so it does not touch the sharp body sides.

Serpent 966 Team Edition

Serpent 966 Team Edition

Serpent have released their new 966 Team Edition, which includes all the individual parts released for the car since they made their debut at the World Championships in Miami back in April. It includes the new rear upper suspension-set, which uses a ball-link system in place of a wishbone, combined with a new carbon camber bracket improving rear end grip. Also included is the new SL8 2-speed gearbox with very low inertia and 8mm shaft, aluminium side-pulley, new brake disk and 3-pin adapter system. A carbon fibre extension set for the lower rear shock absorber mount moves the lower shock mount more outside and needs a longer lower ball-joint. New front upper suspension moves the pivot-point of the upper arm more to the outside, with a very short upper arm creating a better steering feeling and an even easier to control front end. A new split-type carbon fibre radio plate and front carbon stiffener are connected by a rod so when releasing the 2 front screws of the radio plate, the flex is thus controlled. Finally there is the new version sorter aerodynamic design bumper and updated fuel tank with improved cap, spring and seal.

Serpent Cobra-Be gets final test

Serpent are reporting that team driver and offroad designer Billy Easton made the final test of their new Cobra-E 1/8th scale EP buggy before finalising the production run. Expected to be released at the end of August, the new car was put through its paces in the US and was found to have awesome acceleration, fast cornering and balanced jumping. Sporting the final body shell, the new design is super low and narrows towards the rear channeling air flow to the lower wing. The test car was run with the optional aluminium shock towers, while the final car will come supplied with carbon versions.
