Kevin Lee joins Team C/Absima/SMD

After a successful campaign with FDL, Kyosho and Tekin Racing UK top driver Kevin Lee will join Team C, Absima and SMD to run Team C’s latest electric off-road cars and Absima electronics. This is what Kevin has to say about the deal:

It’s an exciting and busy time for Team C/Absima/SMD at the moment with lots of TM4 development work and many other plans in the pipeline. I wanted a piece of this, and that’s why I am so happy to have agreed a 2 year contract to run Team C cars and Absima Revenge electronics. Thanks to all at Team C/Absima/SMD for making it possible. I plan on attending the EOS, European Championships and Japan Worlds in 2015, so it’s definitely going to be an a fun time with a great team. I’d like to thank my previous sponsors FDL/Kyosho/Orion and Tekin Racing. They have helped me so much over the last few years for which I am extremely grateful. I will still be using Spektrum Radio equipment, Rudebits accessories, Puppy Paint, and products from my own shop, Inside Line Racing.

Team C TM4 – Preview photos

Team C TM4 – Preview photos

German Team C Racing distributors Absima have first preview images of the forthcoming TM4 4WD electric off-road buggy available. Previously only seen on somewhat blurry teaser photos the company now released detail pictures of the buggy that made a first public appearance at the recent IFMAR World Championships in Chico, California. The buggy makes use of a design that becomes more and more popular in the 4WD class and that uses 2S shorty LiPo battery packs in favour of the 2S saddle packs that dominated the all-wheel class for decades. The buggy is based on a hard anodised aluminium chassis, features aluminium suspension mounts with plastic inserts to adjust toe and anti-squat settings and the drivetrain is equipped with CV-style driveshafts all-round. A carbon fibre upper deck, carbon shock towers and aluminium big bore shock absorbers round out the package. The chassis is topped-off by a sleek cab forward body shell.

Team C TM4 4WD buggy – First image

Team C TM4 4WD buggy – First image

Some weeks ago Team C released a first rendering of their upcoming TM4 4WD electric off-road buggy and today a first image of what appears to be the production prototype is available. The buggy makes use of the tried and tested T4 suspension components and big bore shock absorbers but everything in between is new. Given the photo the TM4 makes use of an aluminium main chassis with carbon fibre upper deck and the overall design sees the motor and speed controller as well as the shorty LiPo battery pack being located in the rear part of the chassis while the steering servo and receiver will find a home up front. The somewhat unconventional weight distribution is meant to calm the buggy down, allowing for higher corner speeds and a lighter overall weight. We keep you up to date with more information as soon as they come up.
