 Reckward Tuning Symbio for Losi 8ight

Following on from the release of the Symbio truggy body from Reckward Tuning, comes the latest Symbio shell, this time for the Losi 8ight buggy. The body has been made from 1mm thick, high quality, polycarbonate and comes pre cut with the base, tank cap, engine position and antenna all milled out. The front end sports a separate nose piece, while the rear of the shell has a double diffuser and the shell is supplied with Symbio decals and window masks.

Xtreme Motor mounts and bodyshells

US based company Xtreme Carbon have released some non carbon fibre parts in the shape of engine mounts and bodyshells. First up are the quick change motor mounts available for both the Associated RC8 and Mugen MBX-5 that have been made from blue anodised aluminium and allow the quick and easy removal, and remounting, of the cars engine, through the use of 2 piece mounts with guiding pins that ensure the gear mesh is maintained. Xtreme have also released 2 new low profile truck shells for the Losi 8ight-T and the Kyosho ST-RR that are made from 0.050 thick lexan that offer great performance and good looks.

Team Losi HD Brake Disk Set

Team Losi have announced the release of this HD vented brake disk set, for their 8ight and 8ight T. Machined from special high-thermal mass material, they can withstand very high temperatures for extended periods of time without failure. With brake disk life increased by 250% over the stock set, they offer consistent braking even after long run times, while slots in the disks eliminate caliper float caused by material gassing and the slots also help cool the braking components.

Bill Jeric is new President of Losi

Bill Jeric new President of Losi

Horizon Hobby, Inc. have announced that Bill Jeric has been named President of Losi. Horizon Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer, Joe Ambrose, made the announcement stating that, “Bill’s extensive knowledge of the RC industry, as well as his long-time industry experience, make him the perfect choice for leading Losi into the future.” Jeric’s involvement in all things RC stretches back over 30 years, from his early experience as a hobby retailer and his direct interaction with consumers, to his work bringing 1/8-scale buggy racing to prominence in the US market. Bill’s experience with industry leaders like Parma International, Thunder Tiger, Megatech and Horizon Hobby brings a wealth of understanding and expertise to the Losi team. Protoform, who has spent the last 10 years focusing on race bodies for sedan, on-road and oval classes, have added a new body shell for the Losi 8ight to their ever-expanding off-road bodyline known as the HardDrive. Features consistent with all HardDrives include ventilation louvers found throughout each body, which are emulated after full-scale off-road vehicles and each can be cut out to allow air to flow more effortlessly through the body. This creates less airtime when flying over jumps and less airtime equals more time on the ground, and more time on the ground equals reduced lap times and greater consistency lap after lap.
