JConcepts 22X-4 F2 body shell

JConcepts have introduced their new F2 body shell for the TLR 22X-4 buggy. The initial F2 design quickly proved effective on the ground and in the air. Designed with aspects learned from the original Finnisher bodies, the F2 provides an even more aggressive look with included details which remain crucial to performance and it is a drop fit for the popular TLR 22X-4 buggy. With the evolution of racetracks, complicated circuits combining more aggressive jumps and extremely high-speed corners, JConcepts incorporated many features which provide several benefits in the most critical situations. Increased windshield angle provides a steady force upfront during mid-flight wind gusts on large jumps. Forward cab placement changes performance/visible bias which help steering rotation in low traction corners. The side-pods have been simplified and JC chamfered to remove unwanted changes in height to neutralize the at-speed handling. The rear of the pod has been lowered giving a low-profile look. The front of the body has the Finnisher step-down treatment giving the 22X-4 first in class styling. The rear of the cab has the Finnisher V-step feature which allows the placement of a secondary side window and several louver options off the rear. The F2 body in the hands of Dakotah Phend won the 2020 Midwest Championship and JConcepts Winter Indoor Nationals. The JConcepts body is designed exclusively for the new 22X-4 platform and includes all the necessary cut-lines and each package includes the S-Type wings. Additional S-Type wings are also sold separately.

JConcepts Finnisher Mini-T 2.0 body shell

Coming from JConcepts and made for the Losi Mini-T 2.0 is the new Finnisher truck body shell. The clear body has a slight cab forward, raked windshield and aggressive stance that highlight a performance-oriented core. The front hood scoop allows plenty of clearance for mini front-end geometry and body mounts while smoothing out the front down force area. Front chin spoiler, headlight and grill protect the front-end from unwanted up-drafts during flight while the supplied decals stand-out like an 18-wheeler. Just like the larger trucks, the Mini-T body has all the performance-based features like air-escape passages which can be trimmed by the customer for better “in-flight” characteristics. Recessed windows look heavy and adds to the depth of the Finnisher styling. Heavy bracing between the back of the cab and rear shock tower humps connect the features and add some rigidness to the design. The rear spoiler is included as part of the rear of complete body assembly mould and the package is complete with window masks and a decal sheet.

RPM Baja Rey Ford Raptor front bumper & skid plate

Made for the Losi Baja Rey trucks with Ford Raptor body shell is a new front bumper and skid plate set from RPM. The company incorporated all of the key design features from the original RPM Baja Rey bumper and skid plate into this new version. A key improvement moved the skid plate from between the chassis plate and differential to below the aluminium chassis plate. This move solved a couple of problems. First, the aluminium chassis plate now has some serious RPM skid protection where it had none before. Next, and more importantly, it allowed the designers the freedom to create a flex zone on the skid plate that would allow more impact absorption in impact situations, ultimately saving owners from costly repairs. RPM redesigned the bumper as well, creating an additional flex zone that allows the bumper to compress under extreme impacts, yet return back to its original shape once the impact energy has dissipated. This flex zone protects the more fragile front differential and chassis plate since the bumper now absorbs the impact instead of transferring that energy into the chassis. RPM also made the bumper thicker than stock, meaning it can take more impacts over the entire width of the bumper without failing. The bumper is designed and produced in the USA and built from RPM’s nearly indestructible blend of engineering grade nylons.

JConcepts P1 8ight-X Elite buggy body shell

Coming from JConcepts and made for the TLR 8ight-X Elite is their new P1 body shell that debuted at the 2020 Southern Indoor Championships in the hands of Dakotah Phend. In the development stage, the P1 was difficult for its designers, trying to slick out a design more powerful than the last. However, after fitment, discussion with newly acquired drivers, the form started to take shape. Low side-pod designs with an ultra-heavy chamfer are traditional looks for JConcepts, however, the power scoops along the cab add some overall muscle to the design. The P1 has a broad cab and the placement moves it forward just behind the body mount and front shock tower. The new body was designed to turn and cut through the rough stuff with balance and precision. A centred roof “shark fin” is light and adds tracking stability and rigidity to the tallest and most pressure sensitive area on the vehicle. Behind the cab, things begin to get interesting with an engine bay roof-top blended into rear kick-up winglets. The rear winglets strike where it gets hot, just behind the engine heat-sink and gives that last bit of downforce area prior to the rear shock tower. As usual the body comes clear, including window masks, and decal sheets.
