Dustin Evans re-signs with Team Losi Racing

Dustin Evans re-signs with Team Losi Racing

Former National Champion and Reedy race winner Dustin Evans has re-signed with Team Losi Racing. Dustin just wrapped up an impressive season with many notable wins including titles at the JConcepts Indoor Nationals, Rumble in the Rockies, Proline Surf City Classic as well as multiple ROAR National podiums and a respectable finish at the IFMAR Worlds. Dustin will continue to play a vital role in contributing feedback to the engineering team as well as providing input on future Team Losi Racing innovations through the 2016 racing season and he had this to say.

I am very excited to continue with TLR for another three years. We have had some very successful years and with all the great products and people at TLR, there should be many more to come.

Darren Bloomfield leaves Horizon/TLR

Darren Bloomfield leaves Horizon/TLR

Horizon Hobby UK have made the shock announcement that 2012 EFRA 1/8th Offroad European Champion Darren Bloomfield has left the team. Although a reason was not given we should expect a statement from Darren in the coming days or weeks about a future deal. HH released the following statement:

It is with great disappointment and sadness that Horizon / TLR announce the departure of pro-racer Darren Bloomfield after a long 16 year association with the brand that dates back to the early 1990s when he was a young child. His on-track speed and prowess has always been a characteristic trademark for all to see but we wish to acknowledge and thank Darren for his unerring commitment to us as his sponsors throughout the years.  Darren has been a great asset to the team and an ambassador for TLR / Horizon and we wish him all the very best for the future, both personally and professionally.

JConcepts 8ight-E 3.0 Silencer body shell

JConcepts 8ight-E 3.0 Silencer body shell

JConcepts introduce the Silencer body shell for the TLR 8ight-E 3.0 buggy. Designed especially for the use on high-speed tracks the newly designed body features a narrowed, Finnisher stance cockpit that allows for smoother high-speed transition and increased flow in and out of the body for electrical air-flow. A deep recess behind the cab features dual channeling out the rear providing air escape along with rear-end stability. The Silencer side-pods have a clipped rear-end, narrowing the rear by angling just in front of the rear tires while the extended runner features on the rear-end of the body enhance the force placed on the rear pods during high-speed acceleration. The main pods are heavily chamfered and a more heat-shrink design over motor and speed control area are highlighted features and the body is capped off with a cockpit “shark fin” for more high-speed tracking stability and increased roof stiffness. As usual the body comes clear, includes window masks and a decal sheet.

Sweep 8ight & 22 Birdie body shells

Sweep 8ight & 22 Birdie body shells

Sweep Racing now have their distinctive Birdie design body shells for TLR’s 8ight and 22 line of buggies available. Both are of a radical cab forward design with the 8ight variant looking even more unusual due to the angled roof section and the tiny front window making it look like Tweety Bird on speed. Both shells incorporate a rear fin for improved airflow towards the rear wing with the Twenty Two shell being useable for both mid and rear motor converted buggies.
