CSO Xray NT1 Carbon chassis plate

CSO Xray NT1 Carbon chassis plate

Currently in development by CSO in Hong Kong, is this carbon fibre chassis plate for the Xray NT1 1/10th scale chassis. They are currently fine tuning the chassis thickness but so far it has performed very well in testing and thanks to its 60 grams of weight savings, seems to give the car better fuel economy too. As with all non metal chassis plates in gas cars, heat transfer is a concern, but testing in 20 degree (C) heat proved to be no problem for the engine and chassis. They will give the chassis its biggest test to date at the KM Cup that takes place at the end of this month in Bangkok, where the competition will be strong and the heat and humidity really high. We will keep you posted on further developments.

Extra Vitamin C – Xray T2’009

Xray T2'009

For some time now Xray is known as one of the most proactive manufacturers when it comes to enhancing the performance of their own products. While other companies stick with a design for many years it’s a good tradition of the Slovakian manufacturer to update their products on a yearly basis. The best example is the T-line of electric touring cars, that for some time now is named after the year they are designed for. This tradition started in 2006 when the T2 ‘007 came out. At the end of 2008 the T2 ‘009 was introduced, and beside the change in name something new, at least for Xray, pleased the eyes of the strong Xray following: orange anodising.

Xray Narrow Hard Coated Pinion gears

Xray Narrow Hard Coated Pinion gears

Xray release new narrow high-performance pinion gear manufactured from special lightweight aircraft duraluminum. They are 1.5mm thinner and 25% lighter than the regular-size pinion gear and come in 48 pitch (12-34T) and 64 pitch (18-38T). These new narrow pinions are manufactured by Xray on a specially-modified precision gear machine which has ultra-precise tolerances and assures unparalleled concentricity. After machining, the narrow pinions have all their edges chamfered and then are run-in. The pinions are then specially treated to give them an even hard coating so they stay absolute true for a long time.

Xray NT1 Lipo Battery Plate

Xray NT1 Lipo Battery Plate

Xray have released this LiPo tray for the NT1, which was designed to accommodate the lower weight of the LiPo receiver battery pack compared to standard NiMH receiver battery packs. CNC-machined from a single piece of solid brass, the tray is additionally black coated for protection and laser engraved with the Xray logo for authenticity. The slick, narrow design allows you to mount a lightweight LiPo receiver battery pack, and being made of solid brass, weight is brought to the lowest part of the car as well as to the car’s centre line. This makes for a more balanced car, as well as more stable and easier to drive through corners and over curbs. Traction rolling is reduced in high-traction conditions, and handling is improved in low-traction conditions.
