Xray tease updated RX8 for 2022

Xray have released this teaser image of their upcoming RX8 refresh for 2022. As you can see in the image the front shock tower has been deleted, like in the company’s X4, and in this case is now mounted directly to the front bulkhead. It remains to be seen if this has also been done to the rear. More details as we get them.

Xray have released details on their updated for 2022, XB8 and XBE 1/8th buggy platforms. Featuring only minor updates, there is an updated rear wing mount and wing that places the wing further forward to increase downforce over the rear wheels and thus increase traction. There is also a new rear carbon shock tower it also claims to improve rear traction. Other small updates include harder material being used in the rear uprights and front steering blocks and the central CVDs are now fitted with a 5mm set screw instead of the previously used 4mm. The XB8E has also had the steering servo carbon mounting plate beefed up with more material along its edges.

Leadfinger XT8 truck body

Leadfinger has teamed up with RC America and Ty Tessmann to redesign a one-of-a-kind truck body that is specially fit for the Xray XT8. With this there are no extra holes or cutlines to navigate when cutting out the body. By request Leadfinger has also lengthened the back of the cab into the bed of the truck allowing for more room of the oversized air filter. The rest of the styling remains the same form the popular original. To mount the body, use the single post from the XB8 buggy and raise it using a longer screw and 5mm spacers. This allows it to be the lowest sitting body in its class and is why it has been become a preferred tuning option by Ty Tessmann and the Xray team. This body is available from RC America, Leadfinger Racing and its trusted dealers for purchase. The new truck body for the Xray XT8 comes clear and ready for paint. Window masks and grill/ headlight stickers are included.

RC Maker X4 carbon option parts

RC Maker have produced more new carbon items for the Xray X4, starting with this GeoCarbon floating front servo mount plate. It offers the ability to float the steering off the chassis, removing any interference with chassis flex. The bonus of this, is it’s also possible to lower the whole steering rack in the car by installing shims under the bellcrank posts and removing them from the steering arm (to maintain the same bump steer). RC Maker clam that this lowers the whole centre of gravity of the car, yielding faster response and more agile handling.

Xray X4 aluminium & brass chassis T-braces

From Xray for the X4 is this are two new chassis T-braces, in aluminium and brass. Designed to make the car more stable, it generates more rear traction and allows chassis flex adjustments to alter steering characteristics by adding and removing screws from the brace. Brass material puts weight (8 grams) in the centre of the chassis and helps to lower the CG.
